Remember back in September when Summit was casting one of the most important roles in the Twilight saga: Breaking Dawn, Renesmee?
We got an announcement from Summit requesting little girls to audition for the role. This is what they said:

Debra Zane Casting is now casting for the role of "Young Renesmee" in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn I".
We are currently looking for a 5/6 year old Caucasian girl who has some acting experience and is confident on a film set environment.
This girl should have self-composure, good physical posture, and be very attentive, able to take direction well, and be quick to react. We also would prefer a girl with dance training.
IMPORTANT: Right now, submissions are being accepted from talent in Los Angeles and New York (ONLY), as the auditions will take place in those cities.
After receiving thousands (trust me, thousands) of resumes, they selected a group of little girls to audition for the role. Also, many young girls (mostly models & little actresses) from important Talent agencies were requested to audition as Renesmee. Those lucky girls had the chance to read a couple of lines from the Breaking Dawn script (a draft of the original script) and say the lines in front of the cameras.
Once Summit had their "favourite" actresses, the girls were requested to be seen by Bill Condon (the Breaking Dawn director) and Mr. Condon was the one who had the last word, of course.
How did Mackenzie get casted? We believe she was requested by Summit. She auditioned, and she booked it. How could someone resist Mackenzie's sweet smile?
The following video belongs to Tilly Cheri, a young actress who auditioned for the role of Renesmee.
If you pay attention to the lines you might hear a sneak peek of the original Breaking Dawn screenplay ;)
