Odom has high praise for the movie’s stars, Stewart and Pattinson — a real-life couple and fodder for the tabloids
“Meeting them, I was surprised at how down-to-earth they were. It was sweet to watch them together on set,” he said. “Just talking to them ... how smart Kristen is for how young she is. She’s just so intelligent and I can see how she’s had a full career at such a young age.” “She has the mind of a director. I wouldn’t be surprised to see, as she gets older, her transitioning into her own films because she has such a strong voice on set. She had such a strong vision of where she wanted to take Bella and she takes her there. You see it in ‘Part 2’ when she comes into her own as a vampire.”
Weinberg agreed that the actors were not egotistical.
“When you walk into a big film like this with big stars like this, you wonder how they’re gonna be ... how they’ll respond to you,” he said. “It would be a disservice to mention only the Top 3 (Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner) because the rest of the main cast were also just genuinely nice. You hear other people talking ... about how everybody’s nice and all that, but on this movie, everybody really was. They were amazing people. For them to have so much success at such an early age and still be so grounded ... to me, it was amazing to see. It was an honor for me to meet all of them and work with them as human beings.”
Odom, a self-confessed “hopeless romantic,” says he believes the appeal of the “Twilight” series is its timeless romance element — and the chemistry between Stewart and Pattinson made it a hit on-screen.
“(The filmmakers) really got it right with Kristen and Rob as far as the casting went,” he said. “There’s been such an overlap of how iconic the characters are, but also how iconic Kristen and Rob are — both on their own. When together, it became bigger than anyone could’ve imagined.”

They are as special as everyone thinks. I believe that is why they get so much scrutiny. They are so unique people just don't know what to do so they either critisize them or love them. I just hope they last through all of the b.s. that is thrown at them. We need people like them in this world to help us get through all of the depressing stuff and just make movies and to keep our nose out of their private lives..

DeleteYou are so right about them being a beautiful couple. The chemistry they have is unbelieveable to watch. They have been through so much yet they are so grounded. We as fans should support them not criticize them and let them be to live there own lives privately. There is so much jealousy out there because of how they are together. They know how to make it work. They have been together for 4 years. They know what they are doing. It's so nice to hear from the other stars that have worked with them. I just love the whole series. Beautifully done. Can't wait to see what else Rob and Kristen choose for movies.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love how everyone who meets them, works with them or has more than a two-word conversation with them has only good things to say about them. That's why I have such difficulties understanding how and why some people can be so mean to them and/or hate them so much! clearly they don't know them!! I don't either of course and probably won't ever meet them, but I personally just have to hear them talk in interviews or hear/read about this kind of accounts to know that they can only be amazing persons, in and out! Wish there were more people like them in HW! but many that's the problem and why they have so many detractors, they don't fit the mold and people don't like what they don't understand or what's different! sad, but true!

DeleteI agree one hundred percent. They don't fit the mold of most of our entertainers today and that is what I love about Kristen and Robert. They have their family, friends and loyal fans who will be with them always.
DeleteIt is difficult, to say the least, to be an actor and a human being that Hollywood is not. This is the challenge that Kristen has. It is intimidating and confusing to people how Kristen at 22 is already successful and has a solid career and yet she is so un-Hollywood in the way she lives her life. Her passion with her craft and the joy that she gets from making movies is what fuels her, ,,,, not the fame and not even the money. This is the mark of a true artist. Everything about Kristen defies the Hollywood conventions and this is why she will always be hatec on. But her fans and supporters will always be here for her.
ReplyDeleteITA, so true... it makes me so mad when I read people saying that she is a fame-seeker or that success has gotten to her head or things like that, because she sometimes looks distant in interviews or isn't smiling falsely everywhere she goes, just because she is more nervous or fidgety than others! I personally love how natural she is and the fact that she doesn't care about what people think of her, just like I love how un-Hollywood she is, like you said! I probably wouldn't admire her so much (nor Rob) if she was just another bimbo from Hollywood!
DeleteI'm so fed-up with people always criticizing her too because she stutters or is nervous during her public appearances, as if because she is an actress she should be able to speak eloquently every time, everywhere she appears... yeah, if she was acting all the time like so many others, she probably wouldn't have any problem with that, but she's just true to herself! I don't get people who don't understand the difference between what she does when she is acting and then the rest... I mean, I'm a teacher, and I absolutely love it, I love being in front of pupils, but then I'm absolutely unable to speak without blushing like crazy and stammering in front of an adult crowd whose eyes are on me! My shyness just takes over again! I don't think I'm an idiot for all that... well at least I hope so! :) in any case, I think she is one of the bravest persons out there, still staying true to herself no matter what!! she totatlly rocks!

ReplyDeleteI so agree with all of the comments. I think the hate is there because Rob and Kristen just do their thing and people hate that. You never see them in trouble with the law or any of that stuff. They are such well-grounded people. That says a lot for how they were raised. Just love these two and feel like a proud parent when I talk about them. So glad they played Bella and Edward. As I've said before we weren't just seeing them be Bella and Edward we also saw them being Rob and Kristen. The chemistry is so amazing between them. They have no idea how many marriages they helped rekindle that first time heat. Thank you Stephenie and thank you Rob and Kristen. Here's to a wonderful life together.
