LIBERTY ROSS' film debut sees her appear in Madonna's new film, W.E, and according to the model herself - the singer couldn't have been more inspiring.
"She has such a strong vision," Ross told us. "Her whole career has been about looks and drive. As a director she was just brilliant. She knew exactly what she wanted. There are so many things to be decided when you're directing something - I'd be hopeless, there are so many choices. She worked incredibly hard."
Set in the Thirties, the film focuses on Edward VIII's abdication and affair with Wallis Simpson, and also stars Andrea Riseborough, Abbie Cornish and James D'Archy. Ross plays the sister of one of the King's mistresses.
"This film was the first audition I went up for," explained Ross. "My manager in LA put me forward for it, and I sent a tape of myself over to Madonna - and she was thrilled. I flew over to meet her and got the role. It was amazing. I was so excited because of the period it was set, both my grannies were from the Thirties, so I've always been very intrigued and inspired by that time. I loved seeing how it was for them."

Ross is currently working on two new films, a new version of Snow White with Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron, and a short film directed by Sam Taylor-Wood.

"Acting has always been something I've wanted to get into," Ross said. "I think the best models are actors, you're taking on a character. In that sense, I have been acting for a long time. It didn't seem like a crazy transition. Acting is a bigger step into modelling in a way. Modelling is easier when you don't look like yourself. When you look like a different person, you feel different. Acting goes deeper into that, you have to move and talk like that character. I love it."

Hats off to the casting team in charge of Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart‘s next film which is currently in the pre-production stage in London. Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron and Sam Clafin are headlining alongside Stewart, but the supporting crew is equally as A-List. Bob Hoskins, Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard and Eddie Marsan (OMG have you seen Sherlock? See Sherlock!) have all signed on board to play dwarfs. Just this weekend it was announced that Hurt Locker actor Sam Spruell and supermodel Lily Cole have also joined the film as Finn, the Queen’s “henchman” and Greta, respectively.

The latest additions to the cast highlight Universal’s impressive job at rounding up talent for the film. Theron is an Oscar winner, Hoskins is Oscar-nominated, Hemsworth is set to be the next big action star, Stewart is arguably the most sought after actress of her generation, Claflin is an adorable newbie with an impressive resume and Izzard is an iconic comedian. Well played, Universal. We hope the star power translates into screen magic for the film, which goes intro production in the fall and will be out in theaters next summer.

He joins the action-adventure film directed by Rupert Sanders, which recently cast Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard and Bob Hoskins.

And finally we have seven.

Ray Winstone is in negotiations to round out the casting of the warrior dwarfs in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman, the action adventure take on the classic fairy tale being directed by Rupert Sanders.

The studio went whole hog with its dwarf casting this week, entering dealmaking with Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins and Toby Jones and Toby Jones as well as Eddie Marsan and Steven Graham.

Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth star in the project, about a princess who escapes her evil stepmother with the help of a huntsman who was to have killed her but now trains the princess to survive and fight back.

In the script, the dwarfs are named after Roman emperors with McShane playing the group’s leader, Caesar, Jones as a timid dwarf named Claudius and Izzard playing Tiberius, described as the biggest and burliest of the crew. Hoskins will play Constantine, a blind dwarf, Graham an angry-looking dwarf named Nero.

Winstone is playing Trajan, the twin brother of Hadrian (Marsan).

A late summer start in Europe is being eyed.

Winstone, repped by ICM and U.K.’s Creative Artists Management, will next be seen in Martin Scorsese’s Hugo Cabret.
