I’m not one to be photoshop-savvy, I can’t make gifs or fancy edits. However, that does not change anything. So I’ll start this post off with a story.
In 8t grade, at the peak of middle school drama and preparations for high school, I was finally blossoming into somebody. Since the release of Twilight, I had been inspired to read, write, and most importantly, act. Robert Pattinson was (and still is) my teenage heartthrob, while Kristen Stewart was just a pretty girl try cry over.
On April 9th, 2010, Kristen’s 20th birthday, I was bullied by my three ‘friends’; two of them who I had been very close to. I was lost and didn’t know who to look up to. My life had become a living hell, and there was nothing I could do.
I had seen several Kristen Stewart quotes, for instance ‘It’s ok to not be ok,’ and ‘I am myself for myself and not for anybody else,’ and they really stuck to me. I didn’t need to be a cheerleader to be pretty. I didn’t need drugs to fit in. I didn’t need people to tell me how to look, or what to be. I just needed to be myself, because that’s ok.
There’s many more reasons why I love Kristen Jaymes Stewart. She’s my one true inspiration. She’s naturally beautiful, she can make a t-shirt, jeans, and sneaker outfit look beautiful. She’s no cookie-cutter celebrity, she’s Kristen Jaymes Stewart. She has a unique style of acting that no one else has. Her personality shines like the stars in the sky. She’s the most down to earth celebrity in Hollywood, is always respectful during interviews, press conferences, photo shoots, and movie shoots. And when the paparazzi get too much, she does not let them see she’s weak. She sticks that middle finger straight in the air, which clearly states she doesn’t give a fuck. Her mannerisms are just icing on the cake. Her stumbling, constant moving crossed leg bobbing up and down, biting her lip, running her fingers through her hair…it’s truly adorable. She’s what I need to get through the day, and without her presence on the earth, I don’t know what I would do. Thank you Kristen, for giving me the strength to believe in my dreams, for helping me realize it’s ok to not be ok, and for telling me to be healthy and fuck everyone.
