5. Inception, PG-13, $292.6 million
6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I, PG-13, $287.7 million (still in theaters)
7. Despicable Me, PG, $251.4 million (still in theaters)
8. Shrek Forever After, PG, $238.8 million
9. How to Train Your Dragon, PG, $217.6 million
10. The Karate Kid, PG, $176.6 million

10. The Twilight Saga Eclipse
Come on. We are MTV. Not really thought we could make a list of the ten best films without including any of The Twilight Saga, right? Seriously, the saga seems to have found a natural home in our chain, has been hailed as the best film in the series so far this year. And whether you team Edward, Team Jacob or Team Bella, the three stars are the best and most nuanced performances to date.

" The Runaways" and "Eclipse" are two of the Best 2010 Movies We'll Still Be Watching In 2011
Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart both had a pretty outstanding box office year. Their Joan Jett and Cherie Currie biopic blew audiences away, reminding us that there's still such a thing as a great rock and roll movie – something I haven't seen since Almost Famous.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (June 30)
2010 was, without a doubt, the year of the vampire – again! Fanning and Stewart teamed up for a second time for Eclipse. The Twilight Saga has already developed a kind of creepy cult-like following in the past few years, so it really shouldn't shock anyone that this one made the cut.

Golden Globe Nominations Are Announced, But Where Are The Vampires?
The Hollywood Foreign Press has released its list of nominees for the 2011 Golden Globes, and we're pleased that so many of our favoritesgot some recognition. So congrats Ryan Gosling, Anne Hathaway, Matthew Morrison,Emma Stone, and everyone else who got nominated; we've been rooting for you the whole time! But still, we couldn't help feel like there was one supernatural fanged creature that got snubbed this year. Where are all of our favorite vampires?
It's not too much of a stretch to have expected at least "True Blood" to be on the list. Anna Paquin won Best Actress back in 2009 and was nominated in 2010, and the show received Best Drama noms the past two years, as well. But this year it was booted from the list by the likes of "Boardwalk Empire" and "The Walking Dead," and consistent awards show favorites "Dexter," "Mad Men" and "The Good Wife." And none of the "True Blood" actors earned any recognition for their consistently awesome performances throughout the third season.
But "True Blood" wasn't the only vampire series up for contention that was ignored in this year's Globes nominations. "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" also got the cold shoulder. What does this mean for the vampire fad as we know it?!
Okay, so maybe it was a bit much to expect that "Eclipse" would get any sort of nomination seeing that they've been ignored at the Globes in the past. And we know it's a pretty big stretch to think that a film critics society is going to give "The Twilight Saga" any acting or directing nods. But we think it's about time that the series starts getting recognized for the awesome music it's been putting out. If half the artists on this year's soundtrack were nominated for Grammys, it stands to reason that they should start getting looked at seriously for the original tracks they made for these films.
As for "The Vampire Diaries," well, they were snubbed last year as well, but we'd argue that the second season really found its footing and maybe things should have changed this time around. At least a Best Actor in a Supporting Role nod for Ian Somerhalder. I mean, really, Scott Caan got one for "Hawaii Five-0"? Really?
I think this just proves more than ever that vampires are automatically ruled out of serious contention because they are so wildly popular right now. Sure, some films and television shows that are jumping on the fanged bandwagon aren't worth the light of day (ah ha!), but there's some quality stuff out there. While being snubbed at the Globes probably won't dissuade studios from wanting to get in on the money-making spree, good shows not being acknowledged for their quality will perhaps discourage other upcoming projects from putting the effort in. And the last thing we need are more crappy vampire films and TV shows diluting the genre.
