As it is a movie adaptation of a bestselling young adult novel - which also features a love triangle, with Josh Hutcherson and Aussie Liam Hemsworth playing rival romantic interests - Lawrence has embraced the comparisons to Twilight.

"I totally get it - and I also think Kristen Stewart is a really great actress. I loved her in The Cake Eaters and The Runaways, so I am totally fine with that."

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson recently sat down with “Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence, who cleared up reports of a spat between herself and Kristen Stewart.

“I wrote her an e-mail, because there was this huge like, article about a ‘Twilight’ and ‘Hunger Games’ feud, and we’ve never met before and never spoken,” Jennifer explained. “There were all these like, fake quotes from me that were actually hilarious. Some of them were from my ‘pal’ and ‘sources.’ It was hilarious. When I was reading it, I was cracking up.

“Then I was like, ‘Oh my god. If she reads this, she’s going to think – what if she thinks it’s true?’” she continued. “I just shot her an e-mail, and was like, ‘Hey, can’t wait to see more as this feud unfolds!’”

The “Twilight” star took the time to respond to Jennifer, putting her mind at ease.

“She wrote me back, and she was like, ‘It’s fine. Welcome to the world where everything you say gets turned into [something it’s not],” the 21-year-old recounted. “So, she understood.”

Talking about fame: "I would love to call Kristen Stewart about it..."

You're kind of an "it" girl at the moment. Are you glad you didn't get the role of Bella in Twilight?

No. I think that everything happens for a reason. Everything happened the way that it did, especially because I really like Kristen Stewart in the Twilight movies. I can’t really imagine anybody else doing it; I think she’s a great Bella. I’ve never really been disappointed about not getting anything. I mean, I was just with every actor in New York or LA auditioning for whatever’s out there. But I felt that whatever is meant to be, will happen. I actually had no idea what they were. When the movies came out, I went "Wow!"
