Kristen Stewart Casting Rumor Round-Up: From Lois Lane To Snow White

Today's scuttlebutt that Kristen Stewart has read for the role of Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's "Superman" reboot is just the latest in a long line of casting rumors that have followed the "Twilight Saga" actress over the past year. With "Breaking Dawn" only a few months away from wrapping, Kristen's schedule will be wide open for the first time since 2008. I can hear the studio executives salivating now.

We break down four of the biggest (and most believable) rumors we've heard and judge the likelihood they'll actually come true.

Movie: "Superman"

Stars already attached: Henry Cavill

Role: Love interest Lois Lane

Likelihood of happening: Pretty high. Even though it's just a rumor, the fact that Kristen has reportedly read for the part means that she's actually interested, not just that a studio wants the star power she'll no doubt bring.

Movie: "Snow White and the Huntsman"

Stars already attached: Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron

Role: The titular Snow White

Likelihood of happening: Not great. In the end, I think Universal will either opt for an unknown or the very Snow White-like Emily Browning over Kristen. Plus, since she's never done a hardcore action film like this before, it seems like a weird transition for Kristen. Then again, Universal seems to really, really want her for the part.

Movie: "The Hunger Games"

Stars already attached: None

Role: Katniss Everdeen

Likelihood of happening: Nearly none. This was a fan rumor that we've seen running rampant around the Internet, but there's a whole slew of other actresses with a much better chance of landing the role. Also, there's pretty much no way in the world that Kristen will sign on to another young adult franchise right after she's come off "The Twilight Saga." (Not to mention most "Hunger Games" fans would lose their you-know-what if she was cast!)

Movie: "Wanted 2"

Stars already attached: James McAvoy (reportedly)

Role: Unnamed female lead

Likelihood of happening: We still aren't sure. This rumor is almost a year old, but Mark Millar (creator of the "Wanted" comic book) told MTV Splash Page that there had been some conversations between their camp and Kristen's. Still, the script for a second film isn't finished yet, so we'll see if Kristen is still interested by the time it is.

Which of these roles would you most like to see Kristen cast in?

Kristen Stewart plans to develop a network of halfway houses

She plans to develop a network of halfway houses to help those who want to recover and get their lives back, an idea that was inspired by her research for the role of a runaway in the sex trade.

"Anytime I hear that somebody's really rich, the first question is, ‘Do you do anything with it? Or do you, like, chill? You just sit on it?' " Stewart says in the new issue of Vogue magazine.
Stewart, who reportedly is banking more than $25 million for the two Breaking Dawn movies, says of the halfway houses, "Right now it's the thing I feel most connected to."

Kristen's stunt double talks about Kristen and Breaking Dawn

It all began in September when she and Raphael Martins, 22, Pattinson's look-a-like, did a photo shoot for a Brazilian newspaper. In late October, Roberta was called up to the producer Zohar, one of those responsible for filming in Rio after an indication by Raphael. "The cinematographer of the film joked that I was prettier than Kristen," she says. Prevented by contract to tell details of the shooting, Roberta had to hide the news from friends and even his brother Rafael, 11, who is a fan of the saga by Stephenie Meyer. Just told her mother. "The pay is in U.S. dollars. I can only say that it is good money," she says. "I'm not a fan. I saw the movie only because my friends said I looked like Kristen. I am not identical. We share the bright white skin, hair and delicate nose, " she says.

On Monday (9), Roberta and Raphael participated in a romantic sequence in a waterfall in Paraty, a city of Rio, which lasted about 12 hours. The cast and crew are there from Monday (9), since according to the original story is in this tropical setting that Edward and Bella are the honeymoon. Roberta says that when the actors came to film at the Gloria Marina in Rio's Zona Sul,Kristen shook her hand and Robert thanked her with a polite "thank you". "As I do not speak English, I did not try to respond back. They are really quick to shoot, no work at all" she says. "Sure, we wanted to take pictures and autographs with them, but we weren't allowed. They were super friednly. Kristen is much prettier in person."

Once the director called the final "cut!", Roberta hoped to return to her parents' home in Marilia, Sao Paulo, where she grew up (she was born in Echaporã, also in Sao Paulo).

Things we Learn From Backstage Interview with Kristen Plus New Photos!

Backstage.com has a very long, in-depth interview with Kristen Stewart just posted on Nov. 3rd. It's a great article with tibits about Kristen.

Things we learned about Kristen from this article.

1. Sean Penn is a Kristen fan!
"Rileys" director Jake Scott first took note of Stewart in Sean Penn's "Into the Wild." Her screen time is limited, but she made it her own. "I went for a drink with Sean Penn, and he said, 'Check
this kid out,'" recalls Scott.

2. If Kristen read the 'WTTR' script at 16 she wouldn't of taken the role.
"I'm really glad that it took the time that it did to get made, because I think by the time I was 18, I was ready and more confident and mature enough to play
the part," says the actor, now 20. "I had read the script when I
was 16, and I was just too young. I would've shied away from stuff,
I think."

3. WTTR was in the works before she took Twilight.

4. Kristen's a valley girl.
"I'm from the Valley, and I've had the most normal and privileged upbringing, so the fear in that is sort of 'Who are you and what do you know'" she
says.

5. A role has to really speak to Kristen before she takes it.
"If you sit around going, 'Well, it's a good story, there are a few things that confuse me, but I can work it out' No, no, no. I couldn't do
that. I think I'd be so bad in whatever project that was. I can't
make something work that doesn't completely speak to me. You just
go, 'I want to live that. I'd really like to learn from that.' And
you see it all so clearly."

Catherine Hardwicke and Jackson Rathbone Flew to PA to Convince Kristen to be Bella!

Did you know Catherine flew to Kristen to talk her into Twilight? I didn't!!! According to Backstage.com, the Hardwicke flew to find her Bella.

Stewart was in Pittsburgh working on the indie film "Adventureland" when she first got wind of "Twilight." At the time, she says, she didn't really have "enough room in my head" to even consider aproject of that magnitude.

Still, she was up for the audition and
recalls being thrilled when director Catherine Hardwicke and actor
Jackson Rathbone flew to Pittsburgh to meet with her. "We worked
together for four hours," Stewart says. "

And by the end of it, we
didn't want to stop talking about it, and Catherine was like,
'Okay, well, I think you should do this. I'm gonna get on a plane
now, but hopefully we can continue this discussion later.' I was
like, 'Uh, does that mean…' I couldn't believe it."

Like Scott, Hardwicke was charmed by Stewart's brief "Into the
Wild" performance. "I felt her vulnerability and yearning leap off
the screen when she sat on that bed in the trailer, trying to
seduce Emile [Hirsch]," Hardwicke recalls. "Kristen has to feel
everything—to connect, to make it her own. She is intense and
powerful and athletically gifted. Bella Swan is clumsy. Kristen had
to be the most awkward volleyball player in 'Twilight,' but in
reality she's a superstar."

LA Times interview with Kristen

Photobucket
For once, Kristen Stewart seemed at ease.

The 20-year-old "Twilight" star was enjoying a rare moment of anonymity at one of her favorite restaurants, a rustic hideaway shrouded by a canopy of ferns, perched alongside a twisty road in Topanga Canyon. Notices for a local farmers market, a childbirth preparation class and a 70th birthday celebration for John Lennon decorated the haunt's bulletin board.

A few honeybees circled the veggie burger on her plate as she chatted about playing a teenage runaway-turned-stripper in her latest film, "Welcome to the Rileys," a drama coming to theaters Friday. She wasn't running her hands through her hair, or incessantly shaking her leg, or stuttering as she tried to express herself — all of the characteristic nervous tics she's often displayed in public since the first "Twilight" film rocketed her into a frightening orbit of celebrity two years ago.

Then, suddenly, her face fell. A stranger was timidly inching over to her table.

"Could I take a picture for my girlfriend in Thailand?" the man, who appeared to be in his 30s, asked. "She's a great-looking girl. I just recently got into your movies with her. Is that cool?"

Stewart paused, her left leg slowly beginning to bounce. "Yeah," she sighed. "Yeah, sure." She posed for a photo with the interloper.

The Sun talks Kristen and WTTR

KRISTEN STEWART blows her reserved reputation to smithereens with one of her most challenging roles to date.

The Twilight star plays a teenage stripper in forthcoming flick Welcome To The Rileys.
She learnt to pole dance - and even got offered a JOB as a stripper while visiting a club to research her role.
Yet in her most famous part as Bella Swan in the hit vampire romances, she does nothing more raunchy than kiss and generally keeps her curves covered.

Thanks to the series, she gained a reputation for being moody and conservative - an image she has maintained off-screen by turning up at premieres in grungy clothes.
So the 20-year-old American admits she was "shocked" she had no problem dressing in fishnets and little else.
She says: "What surprised me most was probably the fact I was so unaware that I was walking down the street with my robe open, wearing fishnets and just not caring at all. I had no inhibitions, I wasn't scared."
And she reveals that learning to pole dance was no easy feat - and that she got so bruised she considered having some of them covered up, fearing they would look fake.
Kristen told The Sun: "I learned how to pole dance even though you only see it for a second in the film.
"I got bruises in rehearsal. It really hurts. You don't realise that of course it's going to show.
"I mean, there were so many that I wasn't sure, like, do you keep all of them - or is that too much - or is it going to look hokey?"

PLANET PHOTOS
In Welcome To The Rileys, Kristen plays 16-year-old sex worker Mallory, who is befriended by grieving father Doug Riley, played by The Sopranos' James Gandolfini.
He and his reclusive wife Lois (Melissa Leo) are still struggling to cope with the death of their teenage daughter eight years earlier.
There is nothing sexual about Mallory and Doug's relationship - Doug just wants her unconventional company.
To research her role, Kristen read books about the experiences of sex workers and even ventured into the world of lap-dancing clubs to watch strippers at work.
Accompanied by director Jake Scott - the son of top British moviemaker Ridley Scott - she turned up at a fully nude strip club where a man, who didn't know she was a famous actress, offered her a job.
She revealed: "I went to my first strip club and the guy was like, 'You have to come back later if you want a job.'
"They must have thought Jake was my pimp.

"But it started there. You just think, 'Well, gosh, I'm the luckiest kid from the valley', and, as well formed as the script was, it gave me the impression that it was really whole and real - but what do I know?"
Kristen says the clothes - or the lack of them - were also important to getting into the role.
The actress, who first came to public attention at the age of 12 in the Jodie Foster thriller Panic Room, reckons flashing the flesh almost became normal while making Welcome To The Rileys in New Orleans.
She said: "Clothes help. It always helps putting it on.
"I think what was cool about the costume is that I don't really think a whole lot when I think stripper, to be honest.
"A lot of people have certain ideas about how they must be and I didn't really have any.
"I always sort of imagined that they would be kind of sexy, at least, or something because that's sort of their job. But on the contrary you're exposed so often that you're entrenched.
"I mean, literally, you imagine never wanting to take off a trench coat and just living in New Orleans - and it's hot there.

"And also the stuff was really dirty. Everything helps. The make-up, sets, obviously."
Kristen, who is from a showbiz family - her dad John is a television producer and her mum Jules a script supervisor - was 18 when she made the film.
And she was glad the film took a while to get going as it meant she felt ready for the role. "I had known about this for a while before it got up and running and I'm really glad that it took a while to do so because I think I was old enough to play the part as opposed to not ready. I think that earlier on I would've shied away from too much.
"So it was shocking to find myself in situations like that and just being completely fine with them."
Kristen, who has also starred in the Sean Penn-directed Oscar-nominated flick Into The Wild in 2007 and as Joan Jett in The Runaways, admits she finds it hard to leave behind the characters she plays. Mallory the stripper, it seems, really affected her.
She said: "It's sort of like every experience you have in life shapes you, makes you who you are and some of the most monumental experiences in my life have been working on films and playing parts.
"And this one more so - I don't want to compare them - more than normal.
"I think it had an effect on me." Welcome To The Rileys, which does not have a UK release date yet, is not her only shocking role. In the biopic of Jett's first band, The Runaways, Kristen's character was seen taking all kinds of drugs.
Kristen, though, denies she is deliberately trying to shed the conservative image of the Twilight saga.
Twilight's writer Stephenie Meyer is a religious woman who made sure that Bella and her vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen did not consummate their relationship until they were married.
Kristen said: "The few things I've done in between the Twilight movies have just coincidentally been very different.
"But I haven't been like, 'I'm going to just shock everybody right now and do something completely different.'
"It's always been totally informed by something that speaks to you and you need to do it and that's what it is."
The final instalment of the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn, is being released as two films.
They are being made at the moment and part one is scheduled to be in cinemas in November next year. Kristen says she was thrilled to be back working with fellow cast members including co-star and real-life squeeze Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward.
She said: "I'm really lucky to have my cast on the series because as soon as we get back on set together, you always think it's going to be hard to get back there.
"But it's not because we've all wanted to tell the story for so long and it's finally going to come to fruition."

US Magazine: Kristen's Apres-Couture

At the end of day, Kristen Stewart, who always makes sneakers a trend on and off the red carpet, comes down off her 5 and 6 inch Sergio Rossi’s and Jimmy Choo’s to be comfortable like the rest of us.

She switches over into her Keds. You know, those simple, classic sneakers? The ones that have been crawling along since 1916?

She doesn’t wear the sequined ones or the bubble gum pink ones; she loves the darkest black ones. As in, black sole, black laces, black everything.

They’re cute, they’re comfortable (sizes 5 to 13!) and cheap ($35!). Also, they're very cool as Kristen is wearing them. What’s not to like?

Just be sure that you wear them simply and elegantly. Steer clear of a poufy dress paired with loud colors or prints. Or you'll end up with a huge fashion crime summons.

To buy: Champion Canvas Originals, $35, keds.com
