Kristen to star in 'American Ultra' alongside Jesse Eisenberg

Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg are teaming up for American Ultra, an action comedy from Nima Nourizadeh, the director of the surprise hit comedy Project X.

Max Landis, who wrote the hit sci-fi found footage movie Chronicle, penned the script for Ultra, which is being produced by Anthony Bregman for Likely Story, and by David Alpert and Britton Rizzio for Circle of Confusion.

Eisenberg will play an unmotivated stoner named Mike, who lives with his girlfriend Phoebe (Stewart), in a small, sleepy town. One night, their lives take an unexpected turn when Mike's past comes back to haunt him, and he becomes the target of a government operation set to wipe him out.

“Simply put, American Ultra will be the most fun you can possibly have in a movie theater without the use of drugs, fireworks, or canola oil," said Bregman, the prolific indie producer whose most recent credit is Enough Said, the James Gandolfini-Julia Louis-Dreyfus dramedy

FilmNation Entertainment will handle international sales for all territories, including Canada. CAA will represent domestic rights on the film.

Executive producers are Kevin Frakes of PalmStar Media Capital and Raj Brinder Singh of Merced Media Partners.

Ultra is set to begin shooting in April 2014.

Mathieu Carratier, Editor-in-Chief of premiere Magazine tweeted about Rob

From RPLife

Première Magazine's Editor-in-chief, Mathieu Carratier tweeted this morning about Rob and two directors. He said that Rob is set up to work with Werner Herzog and is "spending time" with Harmony Korine.
Ok, real info then: Robert Pattinson is preparing a movie with Werner Herzog.
Since it seems to interest you, I can also tell you that Robert Pattinson has been spending time with Harmony Korine lately.
imagebam.com imagebam.com

While we don't have any confirmed details about that information, what we DO KNOW is that Première is a very respectable magazine and the tweets came directly from its Editor-in-chief. His later tweets show that he doesn't have a lot more info about this movie but hopefully we'll know more soon enough.

Kristen Offered the Role of Kei in AKIRA

Has Jaume Collet-Sera's Akira found its female lead?

Twitch was the first to bring word of Gary Oldman, Helena Bonham Carter and Garrett Hedlund being offered parts in the Warner Brothers backed US adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo's classic manga and now we have learned that Kristen Stewart has been offered the part of Kei, a young medium who becomes the love interest for Kaneda - the role already offered to Hedlund.

Stewart is a choice that makes sense on most levels - she's certainly talented and has name recognition far above most in her generation - but also concerning in that none of the Twilight cast, Stewart included, have been able to find any sort of success outside of that franchise with Twilight fans not caring what any of them do elsewhere and everyone else generally staying away because of the Twilight stigma. Could this break the trend if Stewart accepts? Possibly - that it's more of a support role than a lead will help - but it's a somewhat risky move.

New rumored Role for Kristen Stewart "A Taxonomy of Barnacles"

Rumor's of a new role for Kristen are on. Here's a little recap via Larry411

Production info on new Kristen Stewart film "A Taxonomy of Barnacles" according to the NY Times  whose source is industry syndicator Baseline.

{TB EXCLUSIVE} Kristen Stewart Confused And Lovesick In “A Taxonomy of Barnacles”
October 10, 2011
Kristen Stewart is now attached to star in A TAXONOMY OF BARNACLES, a new comedy written by Amy Lippman and directed by Nanette Burstein (Going the Distance). Earlier this year, TB first reported that Stewart was offered to join the film. Offers and interest are still out for Jeff Bridges and Anne Hathaway to join the pic. The story follows six sisters who are given a challenge by their self-made father to see who will inherit his fortune. Stewart is set to play Beth Barnacle, a pot-smoking purple-haired lesbian who suffers the defeat of unrequited love.
The project is set up at Sony with Team Todd (Alice in Wonderland) and Plum Pictures (The Kids Are All Right) producing. The pic is based on the novel “A Taxonomy of Barnacles” written by Galt Nierderhoffer. It was previously set up at Revolution Studios.
Stewart, who is repped by Gersh, can be seen later this year in part one of the final chapter in the “Twilight” series “Breaking Dawn”. She is currently in production on “Snow White and the Huntsman”, a Universal Pictures revisionist project. She recently wrapped the silver screen adaptation of “On the Road” for director Walter Salles.

Robert Pattinson is NOT Slated to Play King Arthur in ‘Pendragon’

Robert Pattinson is the subject of a new casting rumor that claims he’s slated to play King Arthur in Pendragon.
Outlets like HollywoodLife quickly circulated the report, saying Pattinson’s “allegedly been tapped to play the lead” in the Camelot reboot and describing it as “a historical epic similar in tone to Kristen Stewart’s Snow White and the Huntsman!”
“We’re sure K-Stew… could give her boyfriend a few pointers about how to shoot a medieval epic!” shrieks the site, which apparently believes that any old tales turned into Disney cartoons at some point are practically the same thing.
Unfortunately for HollywoodLife (as well as Pattinson fans eager for post-Cosmopolis project news), there’s no truth to the Pendragon rumor.
A source close to Pattinson tells Gossip Cop the story is “inaccurate.”

Rumored new role for Rob in Pendragon?

This is a big time rumor from an unknown source. Big bucket of salt on this.

Pendragon:

The origin story of Camelot and its inhabitants–Arthur, Lancelot, Guinevere and Galahad.
Photobucket

According to tracking-board.com:
Robert Pattinson has been offered one of the lead roles in the new King Arthur retelling PENDRAGON, filling in one of the spots left open after Eric Bana and Michael Fassbender dropped out of the production. Project is a reimagining of the founding of Camelot by King Arthur, with Pattinson up for the role of the fabled king. Pattinson’s potential casting projects a different light on the project, signaling a possible change in tone for the production than when Bana and Fassbender were considered for the leads.

What is going on with Unbound Captives and is Rob still attached to the film?

Photobucket

Earlier this week we posted a blog post on the status of the movie Unbound Captives, which is the only thing that Rob has lined up as far as we know. If he is still doing the movie that is. The thing that has us all confused and asking if Rob still attached to the film is the next quote

She'll start directing The Unbound Captives next year, she said, and already has rounded up the main cast: Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz and Robert Pattinson.

Notice the quote is said by the reporter and not coming from the films writer herself. But if she did indeed said them  does it 'confirm' that Rob will be in the movie?

Tonight the ladies at StrictlyRobsten asked Josh Dickey @Variety_JLD ( who has cleared some rumors before for our fandom) about what is going on with the movie. Here are his answers... I am hoping it clears up some of the "questions?" at least it did for me.

All of this Unbound Captives news is confusing me. What's the story? Is Pattinson cast?

He's attached. That means if and when they make it, he's informally committed to be in it. First reported 09.

I spoke to the producer Thursday. Rob is still attached to the project. Now financing has to come together.

So basically, we learned (Kind of) that Rob is still attached to the film and as soon as financing starts then they would start on the movie!

So what do you all think about Rob playing this role 'if he does' anyway. Let us know in the comment section below:)

Rumor from Impre.com – Will Rob Portray a Chilean Miner?

Photobucket

It was officially announced that the dramatic story with a happy ending of the 33 Chilean miners trapped in the depths of the earth for 69 days, will be brought to the big screen.

Producer Mike Medavoy, known for his work in Black Swan and Shutter Island, has confirmed that he obtained the rights to stage the real life odyssey.

Remarkable names like Robert Pattinson, Gael Garcia and Antonio Banderas, could be part of the extensive cast for the film of the Chilean miners, to begin recording in Los Angeles with a screenplay by Jose Rivera, who did a great job on “The Motorcycle Diaries.”

The movie title has not been revealed yet, but it forward already is negotiating with actors Pattinson, Gael and Flags to accommodate the schedule of films, provided they accept to be in the project.

The story of the 33 Chilean miners won the hearts of the world, who survived the collapse of the San Jose mine on Thursday, August 5, 2010. The rescue began the next day, but it wasn’t until17 days after the first collapse that they were found and confirmed alive.

The rescue operation at a cost of $10-20 million, was partly funded by private donations, the government of Chile and Codelco.

Another extraordinary event in the history of the Chilean miners, was the international coverage of the most successful rescue process in the history of mining was estimated to have been watched live by more than 1.3 billion viewers.

Will their story have the same impact on the big screen?

New Project for Kristen alongside Julianne Moore called 'The Devil's Pool?

"The Devil's Pool, from director James Lapine starring Julianne Moore and Kristen Stewart, and "A Green and Quiet River," from Alain Choquart with Peter Sarsgaard and Naomie Harris, were just two of the projects proposed at this year's co-production market sponsored by the European Film Market"

I wonder if this is the new name for 'Backwoods'? But that was being directed by Moore's husband. Hmmm, I'm a curious cat now! It appears Kristen is on serious high demand and while this makes me smile I wish we could some confirmation or something (or anything at this point).

LA Times | Will Kristen Stewart make a good Snow White?

...The hallmarks of the character, at least in the Brothers Grimm telling, is softness and vulnerability. Stewart has done vulnerability -- sort of -- in parts of the "Twilight" franchise. But her defining characteristic  has been toughness. Certainly that's been a part of the non-"Twilight" roles she's tackled, as hard-living rocker Joan Jett in "The Runaways" and as a troubled stripper in "Welcome to the Rileys." Will her Goth aspects mesh with the softness of a princess?

In a way, the Stewart casting evokes a reversal of the Rooney Mara-Dragon Tattoo problem. There people were asking if an actress was too soft for the part; here you could ask if she's too tough for it.

The new Snow White does re imagine the character as someone chained to the huntsman instead of set free by him, and, consequently, someone who must learn to fight her way out of trouble. Let's hope, for K-Stew's sake and ours, that means the part calls for more grit than it does soft smiles.

NY Daily News reports Kristen met w/Superman director, but has "passed" on the role of Lois Lane

According to a source close to Zack Snyder, director of the upcoming "Superman: Man of Steel," K.Stew recently met with the filmmaker and his wife, Deborah - who's a producer on the film with Christopher ("Inception") Nolan - to discuss her taking the role of Lane.
The meeting could not have lasted long. The source says Stewart "ultimately passed" on being cast as the intrepid Daily Planet reporter who works alongside Clark Kent and becomes Superman's love interest. Our source, who works with Snyder, says the director did not offer Stewart the role, but had "definite" interest in her playing the quick-thinking brunette.
Stewart, however, had specific reasons for turning down the part. The source says the intense-eyed actress...was "caught off guard" by the success of that film franchise and wasn't ready to leap into a similar situation just yet. Instead, the source said, Stewart professed an interest in "smaller, independent films." (Stewart's spokeswoman said only that she "did not read for the part" and declined to elaborate.)
Legitimate reasons, perhaps, but our source says Snyder was left feeling "slighted" by Stewart and that the awkward beauty had "wasted his time."
Warner Bros. did not get back to us with a comment by deadline. Another insider close to the actress says she hasn't ruled out the title role in director Rupert Sanders' "Snow White and the Huntsman," which is to begin filming this summer.Production for "Superman" is also to begin in Vancouver this summer - which could have meant a potential conflict for Stewart, had she wanted both roles.

Rob interested in playing Jeff Buckley?

VAMPIRE heartthrob Robert Pattinson is looking to get his teeth into a challenging new role as folk legend Jeff Buckley.

The brooding 24-year-old British actor wants to put bloodsucker Edward Cullen behind him when the Twilight saga comes to an end and has set his heart on depicting his musical idol.

Buckley drowned in 1997 in Memphis, Tennessee, aged 30 and immediately became a cult figure.

A Hollywood insider said: “Rob is obsessed with this project and is doing everything he can to land the part.

“He has already told his business team this is his passion and they agree it could be the film that makes him a legitimate Oscar contender.”

The film’s producer Michelle Sy said: I’ve met actors who are keen on the part and Robert was one.”

His main rival for the role is thought to be the American actor James Franco, who will co-host the Oscars next month. Other actors tipped to take Buckley’s role include James Marsden, who played Cyclops in the X-Men films, Blue Valentine star Ryan Gosling and Johnny Depp.

Mary Guibert, 62, the dead singer’s mother, said: “Robert is a fine young actor. I’m flattered he’s been linked to this project. When the time comes we’ll give everybody an opportunity to be seen and heard.”

Pattinson, who has written songs for the Twilight saga, hopes this will give him an edge over his rivals.

Ms Sy said:The actor must be able to play music and sing, or at least make it believable he can do that. Until we start auditions there’s no way we know who’s best for the part.” Filming could begin next summer.
