More Details On Kristen in Snow White

By | Published Saturday, March 26, 2011

Is Kristen's contract ink dry?? I guess I personally hope for an announcement from Kristen's own mouth.
And I would love for it to come at the Kid's Choice Awards next weekend but I won't hold my breath.
But here's some information intercepted by KstewAngel ...

The Wrap reports 'Kristen is still in negotiations' but Variety's Josh Dickey is staying firm on the fact that Kristen has indeed signed tweeting...

And again after Viggo's departure people speculated that Kristen and/or Charlize would drop out of the project but he makes it clear on the rarity of that...

So what do you think??? Is this enough confirmation for you? I hope that she has the role.
And as sad as I am to see Viggo go I would be really sad if Charlize dropped out.
I'm sure we will find out soon if this is a done deal...stay tuned!

Kristen Stewart the Fairest One of All In 'Snow White and the Huntsman'

By RobstenShipper | Published Friday, March 4, 2011

As "Twilight" faces its final days, we have the bittersweet experience of watching its stars scatter and find new projects. While Kristen Stewart may not have gotten the big paydays and press releases that her costar Taylor Lautner did, she isn't exactly lacking for high profile projects. According to Deadline, she has finally decided to take another trip into fantasy, and has joined "Snow White and the Huntsman."

"Snow White and the Huntsman" is a new take on the Grimm fairy tale. It starts out the same -- but instead of sending her off to live with dwarves, this huntsman disobeys the queen's orders to kill the Fairest of Them All by teaching Snow how to survive in the forest.

There, our knowledge of the script ends, but we suspect she and the prince might head back to the castle to send the evil queen packing.

Stewart may have played in fantasy before, but she's never gotten to be on the action end of things, so this will be a fun departure for her. She's joined by a good cast, as Charlize Theron plays the queen, and Viggo Mortensen is in negotiations to play the huntsman. (Aragorn is definitely who you want teaching you the ways of the forest!)

Unfortunately, you won't get a glimpse of medieval Stewart until August, when filming is set to begin.

Now, Palek Patel, who's producing with Joe Roth, has tweeted that she's in final negotiations to star with Charlize Theron and Viggo Mortensen in the rebooted fairy tale that's going head to head with Relativity Media's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, which will star Julia Roberts. Kristen Stewart is in final negotiations to play the title role in Snow White and the Huntsman, and Gossip Cop is told a deal is imminent. Nothing has been finalized at this hour. Stewart was offered Snow White several weeks ago.
Last month, amid rumors that Selena Gomez would take over as the character, Gossip Cop reported that Stewart was still the one who had the role, pending a final agreement. It looks as though the ink will soon be dry.

TheWrap: Kristen Stewart looks set to take on the role of Snow White in Universal's "Snow White and the Huntsman," according to producer Palek Patel's Twitter page.

Moviefone article says Kristen Stewart has already signed on for 'Snow White and the Huntsman - True or False?

By RobstenShipper | Published Tuesday, February 8, 2011

'Snow White and the Huntsman' is a little farther along casting wise, having signed Kristen Stewart and Viggo Mortensen in the respective title characters, with Charlize Theron on deck to play the Evil Queen. Rupert Sanders will be making his directorial debut on the project from a screenplay by Evan Daugherty. Shooting is to begin some time this summer, however, which puts Universal's production in second place behind Relativity Media's entry.

At the time, Stewart was described to us as a “person of interest.”

Today, it appears that status has been elevated.

Sources close to the production tell Gossip Cop the Snow White role belongs to Stewart if the two sides can come to an agreement.

LA Times | Will Kristen Stewart make a good Snow White?

By

...The hallmarks of the character, at least in the Brothers Grimm telling, is softness and vulnerability. Stewart has done vulnerability -- sort of -- in parts of the "Twilight" franchise. But her defining characteristic  has been toughness. Certainly that's been a part of the non-"Twilight" roles she's tackled, as hard-living rocker Joan Jett in "The Runaways" and as a troubled stripper in "Welcome to the Rileys." Will her Goth aspects mesh with the softness of a princess?

In a way, the Stewart casting evokes a reversal of the Rooney Mara-Dragon Tattoo problem. There people were asking if an actress was too soft for the part; here you could ask if she's too tough for it.

The new Snow White does re imagine the character as someone chained to the huntsman instead of set free by him, and, consequently, someone who must learn to fight her way out of trouble. Let's hope, for K-Stew's sake and ours, that means the part calls for more grit than it does soft smiles.

Kristen is negotiations for 'Snow White'

By RobstenShipper | Published Wednesday, February 2, 2011

THR: The Twilight star is in negotiations to star in Snow White and the Huntsman, putting her on the road to topline the movie alongside Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron for Universal’s take on the fairy tale. The deal is not done and could still fall apart, but both sides want it to happen. Stewart is a name that Universal kept coming back to since acquiring the project. Still, it went through a series of screen tests with actresses such as Riley Keough, Felicity Jones and Alicia Vikander. As The Hollywood Reporter previously reported, Stewart was still being courted as late as last week, and Universal finally made an offer over the weekend. Commercial helmer Rupert Sanders is making his directorial debut on the pic, which amps up the action quotient from the fairy tale and plays up the relationship between White and the Huntsman. In the new scenario, when she is banished and on the run by the evil queen (Theron), the Huntsman (Mortensen) takes her under his wing to protect her, and she becomes his protege, learning how to fight and defend herself. Stewart is repped by Gersh

Kristen Stewart a Princess??

She has the opportunity to play Snow White-  she wont be followed by vampires or werewolves any more, if not a mallicious evil queen who is obsessed with beauty who will want to kill her because her Magiv mirror confesses to her that the most beautiful girl in the world is snow white.

Kristen has the chance to play the lead in the movie because the director of Snow white and the Huntsman, is set on her to play snow white after having tried out different actresses for the role he wants her.

Hollywood.com More on Snow White Project....Its coming together

By

Ladies, You don't know how excited this makes me!! Great Cast lining up for this project!! Big names, Great Cast!! Great Director!! Great Producers!! This would be so great if Kristen agrees!!

Universal Pictures Snow White and the Huntsmen is one of many children's stories coming back to the big screen, but one of the only to have its cast nearly locked into place. Over the past few months Charlize Theron was on again, off again, but appears to be almost set to play the villainous evil queen while the main roles - that of Snow White and the Huntsmen - haven't gotten as much attention. That changes today as Viggo Mortensen, who has been rumored for quite a few parts in big-budget films lately, seems to be close to landing the role of the Huntsman, according to Variety.

Rupert Sanders will direct the picture from a screenplay by Evan Daugherty, while Joe Roth (Alice In Wonderland) is producing. This iteration of the fable focuses on a huntsman, who, in the original tale is supposed to kill Snow White but ends up letting her go. He becomes the young girls protector and mentor of sorts as they try to escape from the evil queen who ordered her death. Michael Fassbender had been rumored for the role previously, but he's been busy courting other high profile offers...
Meanwhile, Snow White's part is a more interesting situation. Sources indicate that Universal has been screen testing untried youths for the iconic role, much like Paramount Pictures did (with great success) for True Grit. However, Heat Vision claims that Kristen Stewart is not only a front runner, but is being aggressively courted by the studio. The Twilight star supposedly is such a commodity that she's not even required to screen test, so she may just need to make her decision and we could have our star.

I could personally see both of these actors in the respective roles. Both are major stars, especially with genre audiences. Their involvement, in addition to Theron's, adds a bit of prestige to an otherwise mainstream project that would be less intriguing with a cast of relative unknowns. Adding in established stars gives it a dynamic that will undoubtedly work in its favor. Stewart, though most known for vampire romances, is a fine actress who's been playing her cards right, taking on lots of indie fare to balance the box office might of The Twilight Saga, while Mortensen is a respected thespian and a bankable lead thanks to The Lord of the Rings and his acclaimed recent work with David Cronenberg.

Snow White and the Huntsmen has been fast tracked by the studio as its already got a December 21st 2012 release date and its competing with Relativity's rival Snow White picture, which has Tarsem Singh at the helm.
