New “Water for Elephants” trailer targets “Twilight” fans
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner owe their careers to the “Twilight” series just as much as Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson owe theirs to the world of “Harry Potter.” For all of them, those roles will always be a part of their lives and that is just what 20th Century Fox is banking on in the new movie “Water for Elephants.”
The film, due out in New York this April, is based on the popular book of the same name by author Sara Gruen. Today, the studio behind it, released the most recent trailer for the circus drama and the focus was all on Pattinson. Set during the Great Depression, the actor plays a recently orphaned veterinarian student, who after a personal tragedy runs off and joins the circus. It is there he befriends the enchanting star of the show, who also happens to be married to the owner.
The new trailer gives audiences the clearest picture yet of what to expect from the movie which also stars Academy Award winners Resse Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz. The buzz has been high on this drama from the start due to its high-profile cast and after seeing the trailer it is clear the studio made the right call with casting the trio.
Although while Pattison has found success with the “Twilight” series, he has yet to show he can open a movie on just his name. “Remember Me,” his only feature outside of the teen franchise failed to find an audience and raised questions about his career viability. Then again “Elephants” is a different caliber of film altogether and success here could really boost his stock among non-teen driven projects.
You can judge for yourself when “Water for Elephants” arrives locally in theaters April 22, 2011.

Robert Pattinson Steamy in New Water For Elephants Trailer
Twilight starRobert Pattinsontakes center stage in a new trailer for his latest movie, “Water for Elephants,” and shows off his dramatic acting chops, not to mention a preview of the sexual tension between his character and Reese Witherspoon’s.
The movie is based on the historical novel bySara Gruen and told through the reflections of Jacob Jankowski, who is 93 when the movie opens.
The film, however, is set during the Great Depression when Jacob, played by Rob, is hired by The Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth circus.
He falls for the wife (Witherspoon) of the show’s cruel animal trainer, August. played by Christoph Waltz.
The clip begins with Rob’s character finding out the tragic news that his parents have been killed in a car accident.
With no other relatives, that sets him off on a journey to find himself. He leaves veterinary school and rides the rails until he hooks up with the circus.
It also shows he laying eyes for the first time on the boss’s wife, played by Reese.
Mutual admiration quickly turns to passion, and Rob quickly falls for Reese. The trailer shows a few fleeting scenes of them embracing and staring longingly in each other’s eyes.
The trailer portends plenty of conflict and action between Rob and the boss, as he expresses his love for his wife.
The movie will be released to theaters on April 22.

From The FABlife
Looks like we weren’t the only people who thought the first Water For Elephants trailer had far too much circus and not enough sex. Instead of giving us the ancient Hal Holbrook gabbing about “the Benzini Brothers” (zzz), the new promo focuses on the personal tragedy that led Robert Pattinson‘s brooding lead to the circus, making clear our boy didn’t just run off because he really wanted to clean up monkey poop. The love triangle between RPattz, fragile Reese Witherspoon and violent Christoph Waltz gets more attention in the new trailer as well—instead of Grandpa cooing “I don’t know if I picked that circus, or if the circus picked me,” we hear Waltz seething that animals can tell “whether man is at full-strength,” better setting up Pattinson’s claim that Witherspoon “deserves a better life.” There’s also a lot more kissing and scuffling in this one. While fans of the book (and RPattz) have been psyched from the beginning, this is where those of us who want more drama, and less three-ring majesty, get on board. Plus there’s a stampede!

Can Water for Elephants Be the First Great Movie of 2011?
The Internet is popping with loving reviews for Gore Verbinski’s Rango, but might Water for Elephants be the first great, no-caveats-like-it’s-animated film of the year? If the second trailer for the Reese Witherspoon-Robert Pattinson three-hanky weeper is any indication, quite possibly.
I know: You’ve probably got fangs knives out for Water for Elephants, if only because of the presence of Edward Cullen and director Francis Lawrence (he of the immortal I Am Legend), but we’re now two trailers deep into the marketing campaign for this thing, and it still looks kinda great. Well, it looks good, thanks to Lawrence and his cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (Brokeback Mountain, Biutiful), but it actually seems like a worthwhile adaptation of Sara Gruen’s bestseller. Pattinson makes for a winning-but-tortured protagonist, Witherspoon has a great classic movie goddess (not goddesses, Charlie Sheen) vibe, and Christoph Waltz seems perfectly capable of pulling off the mustache twirling villainy that Water for Elephants needs. Considering how bad this early crop of 2011 movies has been — and how the prospects for March don’t look that much better — isn’t it possible for Elephants to be the best film of 2011*? Here’s hoping…

The Water for Elephants Movie Trailer 2 has premiered. This movie trailer eludes to what happens to Jacob (Robert Pattinson) at the beginning of Water for Elephants (2011), the relationship of August (Christoph Waltz) to his wife Marlena (Reese Witherspoon) and Jacob’s emotional courting of Marlena. Francis Lawrence‘s Water for Elephants also stars James Frain and Hal Holbrook. Water for Elephants’ plot synopsis: based on Sara Gruen‘s novel of the same name, “As a young man, Jacob Jankowski (Pattinson) was tossed by fate onto a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. It was the early part of the great Depression, and for Jacob (Holbrook), now ninety, the circus world he remembers was both his salvation and a living hell. A veterinary student just shy of a degree, he was put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It was there that he met Marlena, (Witherspoon) the beautiful equestrian star married to August (Waltz), the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. And he met Rosie, an un-trainable elephant who was the great gray hope for this third-rate traveling show. The bond that grew among this unlikely trio was one of love and trust, and, ultimately, it was their only hope for survival.” We previously posted the Water for Elephants international movie trailer. Thanks a lot, Pattinson Ladies! :)
Second 'Water For Elephants' Trailer Debuts: 3 Grand New Things
I think I'm just going to come out and say it: Best. Second. Trailer. Ever.
There's nothing more disappointing than looking forward to a new trailer for a highly anticipated release, only for it to be a cleverly re-packaged version of the first with nary a new scene in sight. Well, "Water for Elephants" director Francis Lawrence got it right with this one, because it almost felt like I was watching clips from an entirely different movie (in a totally good way).
Sure, Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoonand Christoph Waltz were all there just like before, but this second trailer revealed a whole new perspective of Sara Gruen's best-selling novel that I totally enjoyed. Let's count all the exciting new things after the jump!
1. Jacob Jankowski's back story unfolds
Whereas the first trailer began with Jacob's (Robert) arrival at the Benzini Brothers show, this one goes back even further to the events that led him to join the big top. We see the veterinary student sit for an exam until he's interrupted by an official with tragic news—his parents were killed in a car accident. It's then that Jacob drops out of school and hops a train bound for his destiny.
2. Marlena and Jacob kiss!
Commence the fits of fangirl giggles! It's only a quick one- or two-second flash on screen, but we definitely spied a make out session between Reese's Marlena and Jacob. We knew it would only be a matter of time before those longing glances from the initial trailer we're fulfilled. (We just wish we had been on the receiving end instead of Reese!)
3. The tone is much darker
Kissing another man's wife tends to have consequences, and for Jacob, it's a beat-down from Marlena's husband August (Christoph). It's just one of several scenes—including the circus catastrophe hinted at in the first trailer—that gives this second trailer a decidedly darker tone. While the joy and whimsy of the circus—tinkly music and all—were the focus last time, the tension and conflict inside the tent take center stage now.
(As a final, brief aside, we'd like to thank Francis for giving Robert more than two lines in this trailer!)
