Sils Maria Talks About Kristen

In "Sils Maria» Your assistant is played by Kristen Stewart, who is a huge star herself thanks to the "Twilight" movies.
Yes. And she works quite differently than I do. She can, for example, read her lines three times in the morning and then knows it perfectly in the afternoon. That is not how it work for me. I look at the texts well in advance and always come back to it. I this so that it doesn't just stick to the surface.

Does Kristen Stewart work superficially?
Not at all. Just different. She may be only 24, but already has a lot of experience. The biggest difference: she was constantly communicating online with her friends.

Also in the Engadin?
Yes, she is so crowded by the outside world that she must isolate herself and create her own intimacy. I understand that. But it's not for me. I'm not on Facebook, not on Twitter.

Chris Weitz Talks About Rob

“Rob is playing a character whose key component is that he doesn’t change and he always loves Bella,” “Now that’s a very difficult part to play. But Rob’s always tried to insert some nuance into it; for instance, an element of self loathing that he always wanted to put into the character of Edward that he hated himself for what he was doing.”

“When always talking with him and with Kristen, we were taking these characters who were very iconic and trying to humanize them,” “I think when working on Cosmopolis – a totally different filmmaker and a totally different genre — we’re really going to see something great.

Part of Rob's speech to Chris Weitz: Via

Robert Pattinson, presented Chris Weitz, who directed him in New Moon. Visibly nervous and embarrassed, Pattinson began by saying that he "would rather that this room was full of Twilight fans because they would not care to realize how bad I am to speak." The actor, however, one geared just curious tribute. "When I met Chris I wanted to be friends with him in seconds. It is a tremendous artist and I think ... weird to be here saying these things about him behaved, as in our last conversation we talked about going to the Coachella Festival to eat some mushrooms "- to what Weitz yelled" SOUP! mushroom soup. "

This award show was tonight in Los Angeles. There was a rumor about Rob appearing on twitter but now we see it wasn't a rumor. Rob presented the award to Chris Weitz who was honored at the ceremony as director for A Better Life.

What are the Hamilton Awards?
The Hamilton involvement in the movie world extends far beyond product. Each year, Hamilton hosts the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards in Hollywood to honor special artists for their individual impact on the film industry. The awards spotlight the vital and highly creative work carried out behind the scenes to make a movie successful, whether it is screenwriting or the demanding work of the prop-master or costume designer.

Chris Weitz talks New Moon and Kristen Stewart - "Kristen Stewart is an amazing actress."

Photobucket

What was it like when you started Twilight: New Moon, which was such a highly visible project?
For me, it was tremendously refreshing because I knew that people were going to go see it. So there’s no pressure on me, as far as I’m concerned. Instead of treating it in any way like a popcorn movie, I just decided to treat it like a big, widescreen romance. That conditioned getting Alexandre Desplat to write the score and getting Javier Aguirresarobe, who’s one of the great DPs in the world, to shoot it. I knew that if I was true to the spirit of the book, there were all kinds of things I could get away with in terms of what we were doing with the camera and the lushness of the colors and the design. It was a complete delight. Kristen Stewart is an amazing actress. Really, she’s an independent film actress of the highest caliber. So she will bring to what’s essentially a melodrama these very harsh emotions. Coming out the other end of it when we were marketing the film, that was madness — in a very enjoyable way for me because I kind of got to be the Ringo Starr of the group. We traveled around Europe, the big three and me, and the biggest it got was Munich’s Olympic Stadium with 23,000 screaming fans who were there just to see us say hello and answer a few softball questions. There were moments where you felt that this could get dangerous or this could get really weird, really fast. It was rather extraordinary.

Chris Weitz talks about shooting New Moon/Working with Robsten & and jokes about Twitter time with fans

Weitz told Digital Spy that the amount of screaming from Twilight fans will "haunt him forever".

"I remember going to the Munich Olympic Stadium and there were 23,000 young women screaming. It wasn't for me, I was only the Ringo Starr at best of the whole quadruplet that was traveling," he said.

The director also recalled being unable to go to the bathroom during filming in a small Italian town because the location was overrun with fans of Stephenie Meyer's fantasy saga.

"When we were shooting our final four days in Montepulciano in Italy, because it was known that we were shooting there every day, thousands and thousands more young girls would show up - until the point where the streets were jammed, we couldn't get our equipment from one location to another," he explained.

"I couldn't go to the loo because every cafe, every restaurant was just packed. So I just held it!"

The Sweet @ChrisWeitz talks about Rob, Kristen and Taylor. "I want them to succeed"

Photobucket

“I really want to see how they’re going to figure out the part where the vampire baby chews its way out of Kristen Stewart’s stomach,” said “New Moon” director, Chris Weitz, when we recently asked him what he’s looking forward to seeing in the final “Twilight Saga” movies.

Chris quipped with a smile, “I certainly wouldn’t know how to shoot that. I’m sure Bill Condon is going to figure it out, because he’s a terrific director.”

As for the future of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner after “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Parts 1 (to be released in November this year) and 2 (next year), here’s Chris’ wish for them: “For the three leads, they’re going to need to handle this last tsunami of publicity and distinguish themselves in other films.”

“With Kristen, she has always done terrific independent-film roles, and that’s great,” said Chris, who also directed the memorable “About a Boy,” “The Golden Compass” and, now, the acclaimed “A Better Life.” “Rob is doing that sort of thing, too,” Chris pointed out. “Rob is filming with David Cronenberg (‘Cosmopolis’) now. Taylor is carving a different path in action films.”

“I want to see them succeed,” Chris stressed. “I want to see them retain their essential humanity. I like them very much. What I also wish for them are happy lives that aren’t impinged on too much by the downside of the great things that have happened to them.”

Chris Weitz Very Fond of Kristen and Touched that She Came for the Premiere

Anyone you would love to work with again?
Kristen, Rob, and Taylor. If they let me! Sure.
What does it mean to have the support of your former cast-members like Kristen and Taylor here tonight?
It’s tremendous. I think it’s really cool. I mean because every time they come out, they face a gamut of fans and get screamed at and everything and they have to dress up and think like ‘Oh what am I supposed to wear tonight.’ It would much easier for them to just watch the DVD at home. I’m really touched that they’ve come out tonight, and it’s great to see them because I’m really fond of them.

Chris Weitz tweets about Kristen after the 'A better life premiere'

Chris Weitz’s L.A.-set drama A Better Life features no stars (well, its lead is ‘the George Clooney of Mexico’) and no vampires, but it got a profile boost Tuesday night when two of the stars of Weitz’s last movie, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, made a red carpet appearance in support of their former director. Fresh off of filming on November’s Breaking Dawn, the Twilight duo posed for photos but left the media spotlight to Weitz and Co. to talk up their potential awards contender, about an illegal immigrant father and his teenage son struggling to make it in East L.A.

Chris Tweets after the after party about Kristen and Taylor:) I think its so unbelievably sweet how they showed up and supported their friend. I can tell that he is very much loved by all the cast :)  Here's to hoping 'A Better Life' does well in theaters.. Are you going to be watching it? I am:)

Chris Weitz Tweet again about Rob and Kristen :)

Karolinawithk why were Robert Pattinson covered with black dots in the volterra scene?
Either CGI tracking marks or bad outbreak of acne.

@SteffiTwoBits You must have heard bout BD2 pic leaks today. How much can that hurt a director still editing his film?
I just heard about this. Well, one can understand the fans’ excitement, but really you;re trying to make a surprise present with a big bow
on top, a complete film, so it can be a drag. Did the pics give lots away

@jittzpattzing it gave away ALOT. and there’s more out there. Summit’s security is for sh*t. really
Honestly, it is impossible to plug all the leaks. Sounds like a pity, because you get an incomplete version of final product. Be strong!

@Chudygirl Lots of E/B lovin’ and Bella as a vamp. Wish Summit could use the “if you peek it goes back” rule my parents used for Cmas gifts
Well that’s the problem on the internet isn’t it… nothing we do, say or show can be taken back, ever

@inezofmysoul put yourself in his shoe, if u were him would u b so dissapointed/mad dat d pics leaked or maybe cud be good for early promo?lol
I’d probably be bummed. And then move on.

@elousika Hello, can I ask you for something? Edward will have better lenses than in previous parts? Thank you for answer
You will see my anser at TwilightLensCom 2011 in Lensville, Alabama

@betanyjane14 who do you think would have made a good edward beside rob??
That would be confusing, wouldn’t it? Two Edwards standing beside one another?

@Mini_Edward17 How do pics like that get leaked in the first place. Should we assume someone is going to get fired over it?
mmm… highly likely. Unless it is a terribly clever marketing ploy.

@RavenLilly_ That’s exactly what it is, a marketing ploy we all know this. How would those specific pics get into the wrong persons hands?
Oh well that’s easy. cel phones, digicams… I mean, they got State Department cables out in a Lady Gaga CD case.

@Ashley10116 Team Edward or Team Jacob? No answering with some smart answer. You can only answer with one (Edward) or the other (Jacob).
I am a Jacob. So that has to be my team, by default. Except really, honestly, I’m team Bella.

@caitlin71Ann when there are a lot of extras in a movie and the actors have to walk through them do the actors need security?
No, though we did have scurity in Montepulciano, there were so many people…

Most praise him and his work ethic and how sweet he is in person. Le Sigh...

We'd ALL love to do that!! Oh that hair. Chris is such a fanboy, lol.

I really do hope people go to see this movie.
The trailer is really good and we should all support Chris!

SM even explained that they breathe to look human and it becomes habit.

Is this a little hint to a certain question he is probably asked hundreds of times over and over?
Well he doesn't have to give it up, we already know...
