What keeps the fans affections (we like to think) is the way he keeps pushing himself into tougher and tougher roles, and his ability to laugh – hard – at the idea that his perfect features and great hair in any way make him a sex symbol.

Let's be controversial here, and suggest Water For Elephants, where he's still dreamy and gentleman-like, but doesn't sneak into the bedrooms of teenage girls while they're asleep.

The Twilight money is still rolling in, for now. Stewart topped our list of Hollywood’s Highest-Paid Actresses last year and is third this year, but she likely won’t be on it again for a while. While she helped make Snow White and the Huntsman a hit, a sequel is still a ways off and the actress doesn’t seem terribly interested in doing more big-budget movies.

Look, our whole take on celebrity red carpet fashion is that it’s about telling a story with yourself and making an impact with your clothes. It doesn’t always come down to “Is this pretty/not pretty?” As Saint Oscar said, the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about. And considering most of her year was spent with people talking about her sex life, rather than her work, we think this was a LOUD AND CLEAR message at the opening of her biggest film that she wasn’t going to be shamed for her decisions.

Is it pretty? Not the point. For most of that week, this look was what the fashion and celebrity press were talking about. Mission accomplished, big time.

Twilight actress Kristen Stewart has been crowned the world's best-dressed woman, beating the Duchess of Cambridge and Victoria Beckham.

Stewart - Bella Swan in the hit Twilight films - is number one for transcending from "awkward teen to style queen" and for always being "effortlessly on-trend". The US actress also tops the best-dressed couple rankings with her British boyfriend and co-star Robert Pattinson.

Glamour's 50 Best-Dressed Women of 2012, voted for by readers, appears in the June issue of the magazine out on May 3rd.

We admit it: in our vampire-loving hearts, Bella Swan's onscreen wedding dress was more exciting than Kate Middleton's — and Pippa's — real-life Royal Wedding ensemble combined. Designed by Carolina Herrera, Bella's gown is a sleek creation of crepe satin, French Chantilly lace and 152 covered buttons with a cut-down-to-there keyhole back (the better to tempt her otherworldly guests with). The CH original comes with a hefty $35,000 price tag, but for you Twihards, the Alfred Angelo knock-off clocks in at just $799. (Just BYO Edward).

While Kristen Stewart has a particularly rabid following for such a young actress, we're guessing (hoping?) you don't consider yourself a Twi-hard. Still, just because you're not a Stephenie Meyer disciple doesn't mean you can't still be a fan of Twilight's leading lady. A reluctant star who seems genuinely bothered by all the attention she's received as Robert Pattinson's love interest (both onscreen and off), Stewart has an edge to her that most other tween favorites don't. And maybe it's that hard-to-get attitude that makes us like her so much. Regardless, forget Edward and Jacob -- consider us Team Bella. Is that an option?

Of all our Best of 2011 polls, the race for Best Ensemble was the most contentious. Though five films were in the running ("Bridesmaids," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," "Breaking Dawn," "Horrible Bosses" and "The Help"), it was a photo finish between the wizards of Hogwarts and the supernaturals of Forks. After nearly 2 million votes cast, Bella, Edward and co. were the vampire victors by a narrow .13 percent margin.

The sauciest and most titillating of our Best Of polls pitted beloved Bella and Edward against some "Bridesmaids," Justin Timberlake and "Immortals," not to mention a whole lot of Michael Fassbender. Let's be honest, there's no loser when it comes to Best Sex Scene, but the headboard-breaking, pillow-shredding one in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1" was almost a guaranteed winner from the start. Fans told us they were excited about the big moment way back in July, and if their enthusiasm wasn't apparent then, the boatloads of votes they cast in this poll were loud and clear.

It's hard to deny that a film was the "Best Dressed" of the year when you consider that one of its most anticipated moments wasn't a moment at all, but a wedding dress. And when the secret was finally out, it was everywhere. Designers made pricey replicas, a more affordable version and even prom dresses inspired by the long-sleeved gown Stewart wore. Not even Ryan Gosling and his suits could take away Bella's special day.

Much like our Best Ensemble poll, Best Couple boiled down to a face-off between "Harry Potter" and "Breaking Dawn." Would Ron and Hermione's romance cast a spell over voters? Or would Bella and Edward's epic vampire sex be unbeatable? In the end, it was indeed the hot honeymooners who prevailed, feathers flying.
