Wall Street Journal: Is There Life After 'Twilight'?
Is there life after you’ve been undead? The opening box-office for Robert Pattinson’s new film “Water for Elephants,” a romantic drama that’s set amid a traveling circus during the 1930s, shows the young heartthrob may have reach beyond his blockbuster vampire franchise “Twilight.” Based on Sara Gruen’s bestselling novel of the same name, the film adaptation earned a better than expected $17.5 million, according to early estimates from distributor 20th Century Fox. Industry insiders believed the film would draw in the low-to-mid teens.
“It really over-performed,” said Fox distribution executive Bert Livingston, citing the film’s “old-time filmmaking” as one of the movie’s strongest assets, as well the popularity of the source material. “It’s a book that was on the bestseller list twice, so people had two chances to read it,” he said.
While reviews were decidedly mixed–it averaged a 54 out of 100 on review aggregation site Metacritic.com–the film scored a solid A- Cinemascore rating and strong positive word-of-mouth.
Based on the studio’s demographic exit polls, however, Pattinson’s “Twilight” fans were not big supporters of the movie: 70% of ticket-buyers were over 25.
“Pattinson batted in his wheelhouse, given the storyline and his character,” said Box Office Mojo president Brandon Gray. “Then again, Pattinson is still a relatively unproven draw, and this movie did co-star the more established Reese Witherspoon.”

EMPIRE INTERVIEW: Rob Talks: Cosmopolis, Cronenberg and inevitably, Twilight (Preview)
Love him (teenage girls everywhere) or loathe him (their boyfriends), Robert "R.Pattz" Pattinson is apparently here to stay. With Water For Elephants out soon, he's gearing up to star in Cosmopolis for David Cronenberg. Yes, you read that right. Yes, this may mean that you have to start liking him. Here's what he had to say about his role.
"I'm just astonished that I've been cast. I'd read the script before and thought, 'Wow, this is insane. But insane and difficult.' And then, out of nowhere, my agent said, 'Do you want to do it?' I'd never thought about working with Cronenberg, but I've always loved his movies. It just never came into my head that there would ever be that opportunity.
"Y'know, there are so few auteurs left. The one thing that pisses me off about working in films is when you start a project and then, suddenly, two days before you start, there's a massive rewrite to make an R-rated movie into something that's PG-13, and it's a totally different story. As soon as that line's been crossed, you know you're not making a movie anymore. You're making a...a... fridge magnet. But with people like Cronenberg you know that, no matter what, there will be a movie at the end, and it will be solid and self-contained, and it's not made for any other reason than it being a movie."
Pattinson also confirmed that, as far as he is concerned there will be no further Twilight outings following the two-part Breaking Dawn which finishes the current series. And he swears that he didn't know what he was getting himself into with Stephenie Meyer's massive vampire saga.
"I thought at the time, with Catherine Hardwicke and Kristen Stewart, it was going to be an indie movie. It seemed really interesting: a teen vampire movie that was going to be like Thirteen and really serious. I had no idea it was going to be this big thing you'd get on Burger King hats."
Water For Elephants is out on May 4, and the full interview with His Dreaminess is in the new issue of Empire, out Thursday.

Kristen Stewart says Twilight is not a perfect movie!
Twilight series have given actress Kristen Stewart her own identity and niche in Hollywood so when she says that Twilight series were not perfect, you will really frown at her! However, don’t misunderstand the pretty lass because she is not at all criticizing the films.
According to the 21 year old actress, all the characters in the film are very clumsy, wild and little crazy and this is the reason of their strong bonding with each other and the viewers. Kristen, who plays the lead girl Bella, said that they all could relate to the imperfect characters. She says none of them are perfect and that is the reason they can get along so well.
Speaking about her most favorite seen in the recently released Eclipse, Stewart said that it was the scene where she was sleeping in between Jacob and Edward as Bella always wished them to level with each other. Well Kristen, we understand why you liked it most! Kristen said that she found it very funny because it happened when she was in-between them.
We hope Kristen gets many more such moments to cherish in the coming two films including the Breaking Dawn, which is being shot now.

OK, so we’ll admit that a huge factor in our love of the vampire movie “Twilight” has to do with the casting of the breathtakingly gorgeous Robert Pattinson in the male lead, as the self-loathing vampire Edward Cullen.
Of course, while we can’t get enough of Robert and his on- and off-screen love interest Kristen Stewart, there is also something to be said for the “Twilight” plotline, which is dripping with suspense and romance. Unlike most other vampire movies, there’s not a lot of blood and gore, but there’s still plenty of action.
The two sequels so far, “New Moon” (2009) and “Eclipse” (2010), provided more of the same and kept the female fan base happy with plenty of shirtless moments from Rob and co-star Taylor Lautner.
If the three “Twilight” movies have fans thirsty for more, the final two-part installment — set for 2011 and 2012 — is still to come.

The easiest “Twilight”-related proposal (come on, you knew we’d go there!) would be taking your lucky Twilighter girlfriend to Port Angeles, Wash., and dining at Bella Italia where Bella[Kristen Stewart] and Edward[Robert Pattinson] had their first date. After buying her a plate of mushroom ravioli (and only ordering a Coke for yourself), how could she possibly say no when you pop the question? Sure, Edward didn’t propose to Bella there, but Bella Italia is one of the few locations in the books that actually exists in real life.
