Robert Pattinson is on the cover of France's Madame Figaro magazine sporting sporting some sexy scruff. In his interview with the mag, the Water For Elephants star revealed he loves when ladies dress up in Chanel and Proenza Schouler.

Umm..don't know how accurate this information is because first of all, Kristen Stewart was just in Proenza Schouler JUST last night at Met Gala and this is basically implying that he is referring to her (which makes sense). But sometimes these magazines aren't that accurate and the interview is in French so I can't read it to make sure.

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild. 

Forget St. Thomas. The new, hot location for celeb spotting this week is Germany. Fresh off "Breaking Dawn" re-shoots, Mr. Robert Bedhead Pattinson made a stop in Berlin earlier today at the Hotel de Rome for a "Water for Elephants" photocall. Or as the German call it, "Wasser fuer die Elefanten"...uh...photocall. 

 

The heartthrob—clad casually in a steel-colored button-down and dark pants—mugged with co-star Christoph Waltz and director Francis Lawrence at the event, which preceded the German premiere later today. (Happening right this very minute, actually, if my time zone calculations are correct!) 

It's been a whirlwind few months for Rob—from wrapping "Breaking Dawn" and promoting "Water for Elephants" to hanging out with MTV News. A lot. The man deserves a vacation pronto! (May we recommend New York? It's lovely in the springtime. And I have a spare air mattress in my apartment, Rob!)

Is there life after you’ve been undead? The opening box-office for Robert Pattinson’s new film “Water for Elephants,” a romantic drama that’s set amid a traveling circus during the 1930s, shows the young heartthrob may have reach beyond his blockbuster vampire franchise “Twilight.” Based on Sara Gruen’s bestselling novel of the same name, the film adaptation earned a better than expected $17.5 million, according to early estimates from distributor 20th Century Fox. Industry insiders believed the film would draw in the low-to-mid teens. 

“It really over-performed,” said Fox distribution executive Bert Livingston, citing the film’s “old-time filmmaking” as one of the movie’s strongest assets, as well the popularity of the source material. “It’s a book that was on the bestseller list twice, so people had two chances to read it,” he said. 

While reviews were decidedly mixed–it averaged a 54 out of 100 on review aggregation site Metacritic.com–the film scored a solid A- Cinemascore rating and strong positive word-of-mouth. 

Based on the studio’s demographic exit polls, however, Pattinson’s “Twilight” fans were not big supporters of the movie: 70% of ticket-buyers were over 25. 

“Pattinson batted in his wheelhouse, given the storyline and his character,” said Box Office Mojo president Brandon Gray. “Then again, Pattinson is still a relatively unproven draw, and this movie did co-star the more established Reese Witherspoon.”

With production set to being shooting this summer in Toronto, casting on David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis” starring Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, and Mathieu Amalric is wrapping up. Samantha Morton joined the cast last week—via a Robert Pattinson interview—now she’s been confirmed and according to Entertainment One, who is handling the picture’s distribution in Canada, one more has joined the cast: Canadian actress Sarah Gadon. 

 Known in Canada for the television series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?,” Gadon currently stars on the CBC drama, “The Border.” More importantly she has already worked with Cronenberg landing a smaller role in the filmmaker’s already-shot “A Dangerous Method” where she plays Emma Jung, Carl Jung’s wife. That picture stars Michael Fassbender, Viggo Mortensen, Keira Knightley and Vincent Cassel.

 Gadon will be playing the role of Pattinson’s estranged wife Elise Shifrin.

While visiting Tai, I got a few details about Rob and Tai: 

* The stars of Water for Elephants were brought out to meet Tai as a persuasive tactic to get them to sign on to the film. 

* Rob came out to meet her and was quite taken. We got an idea of this meeting from the Details article. 

* He was over her, under her, beside her, like a little kid. Very excited. Wore a hoodie, sunglasses, and sported a beard. The ranch crew didn't know who he was so there was no fangirling going on but said he was really nice. 

* The trainer said Rob got elephant rides and Tai lifted him in the air with her trunk. When he was leaving, he was on the phone talking about how thrilled he was. 

* The trainer said Tai would likely recognize Rob again due to the amount of time he spent with her.
