“Kristen Stewart… she really brought it. She has done everything in her power to make this the best it can be. People might have their reservations, but she’s going to prove to people how amazing she is,” Claflin said. He reported being inspired by how the Twilight actress handled herself, given the expectations thrown on her by audiences used to seeing her as Bella. “There’s such pressure on her shoulders. Trust me, she will impress everybody. Without her, this film would not nearly be the great movie it is now.”

“I’m proud now to step away from this and say that I did that. I needed to do this in order to grow -- having this opportunity to be surrounded by these incredible actors like Kristen, Charlize [Theron] and Chris [Hemsworth]. I grew up watching some of these people on television and in films. I’m proud of what we’ve all achieved. Hopefully, everyone will enjoy it as much as we did making it. I’m excited to see what other people think of it.”

What’s your take on Kristen’s character in the film?

What I loved about how Kristen approached this character is she put a lot of heart of soul into this, she literally dedicated her life to this project and I think the results show for themselves. The character’s got a little bite and a little fierceness, she doesn’t mind punching people, like Chris in the face. She’s very strong-willed as well as the kind of naivety and purity side of things, she’s strong and independent. She goes from girl to woman in this film and it’s quite interesting to watch.

Is Snow White a modern heroine in Huntsman?

I think she could be easily, I think young girls could walk away from this and think, I want to be like Snow White. She’s not a fighter but she is a good person and hopefully somewhat of a superhero. It’s no different from me walking away from Superman thinking, I want to fly and wear pants over my trousers. There are going to be a few more tomboys out there wanting to get stuck in thanks to her.

toofab: How was it acting with Kristen?

Sam: I'm very lucky to work with such people. I'm scared I've been spoiled. Kristen was an absolute pleasure. She's so young and so talented.

Here she is ... the most famous person on the planet. People think actresses like her are going to be a diva; not generous with her time. She was down-to-earth, generous, professional and hardworking.

toofab: She has a reputation for being notoriously shy.

Sam: On a set like this everyone is quite nervous. I never found she was too shy to talk. She was incredibly inviting.

toofab: They joke that the go-to accent in fantasy films is British. As a native Brit how did you fare?

Sam: I was the lucky one, I was the only one to have his own accent. It was great that I didn't have that added pressure.

I was knocked for six [British expression for being completely floored] hearing Kristen speak with an accent. I was so used to her speaking as an American. She had the perfect English accent.

At the Snow White and the Huntsman premiere last night, Kristen Stewart's co-star Sam Claflin, who plays the heartthrob prince, spoke to omg!

We asked if the British actor helped K-Stew in perfecting her British accent to which he replied: "I didn't need to give her any tips, I think she had Rob to help with that."

Liberty Ross who plays K-Stew's on screen mother, Queen Eleanor, told us: "Kristen's accent is very sweet, I like it."

“Working beside her [Kristen Stewart] on- and off-et, she really is very focused on sort of changing her life after Twilight. The Twilight [films] are coming to an end now and she wants to set out a career that will take her to new places.”

And speaking of stellar acting chops, Sam couldn’t help but gush over Kristen’s portrayal of Snow White and insisted she’s an incredibly dedicated actress:

“She’s really really challenged herself physically, mentally, vocally—every sort of side of it. And she’s very hard working,” Sam revealed with clear admiration. “All I can say is she’s pulled it off marvelously. I hope everyone agrees.”

But that’s not all Sam had to spill, not only did he reveal that this role is a completely different departure for Kris, but there’s another challenging aspect K.Stew had to master:

“She’s [her character] completely different, she’s English for a start,” Sam explained.

You worked closely with Kristen Stewart on Snow White...How was it to be so near that level of fame?

Sam: Awkward! [Laughs] I know it's quite hard for her to have a normal life, to go to the shops in the afternoon, and I'm blessed that at the moment I still live an absolutely regular life.  get to stay mysterious.

Who do you compare yourself to?

Same: I can't help but compare myself to Eddie Redmayne. I was actually up for My Week with Marilyn, but when I saw the script, I just knew he was right for it. My first ever job was with Eddie [in The Pillars of the Earth] and I've witnessed him grow as an actor - he looks so at home, it all seems to come very easily for him. He's friendly with Andrew Garfield and Robert Pattinson and he's the next one of their group to come through. When I go to LA,  don't really have that group of friends who I can talk to and who are going through the same sort of things as me - it's quite tough.

Teen.com: What’s Kristen’s costume like? Very princessy?
Sam: She tends to sort of not be in any princess-like costumes, which is good for her and kind of gives her that badass sort of fighting spirit, I suppose, but she looks pretty damned awesome. Thumbs up.

Teen.com: Have you gotten any injuries on set?
Sam: No. I think I sort of tripped over a stair, which is my own fault. I can’t blame injury on that. But the other day I think Take 1 of riding a horse on to a certain scene, I fell off. I think the thought of me trying to get up again was quite difficult, so I was just laying there kind of going, “Oh-h-h.” But I remember Kristen just trying to winch me back up on to my feet, and I thought, “I’m not moving. I can’t move. I’m just going to stay here. I’m happier.”

Sam Claflin is one of Kristen Stewart's two leading men in the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman, which hits theaters June 1. We stopped by the London set of SWATH in October to sit down with the cast and crew and learn a little bit more about the highly anticipated dark retelling of a classic fairy tale. Sam, who plays Prince William in the film, is relatively new to the big screen after making his debut in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides last year. While on the SWATH set, Sam shared this cute story about having the same taste in music as Kristen and a connection they made through a favorite singer:

“There is a guy called Marcus Foster. Basically a guy played at my birthday, this sort of big musician who I love, and I went to go and see him at another gig, and supporting him was Marcus Foster. So, I went backstage and to meet Marcus, and he was telling me about this music video that he’s about to do that Kristen [Stewart] has just starred in. Then when I saw Kristen next, I said, ‘I can’t believe you did that. You know him and he knows you, and he knows Rob [Pattinson].’ So, again, it’s all this small world. So namely him, but I think — I have a feeling our sort of music tastes are very much in tune.”

Having just started filming for Snow White, Sam seems to be getting on well with Kristen Stewart.

“She’s lovely, a very talented girl,” he told us. “Meeting her was one of those moments where I was expecting her to be a certain way, but she’s a normal girl.”

“We have the same tastes in music so that’s good – it’s not all about acting. She’s my age which is cool. But we haven’t yet had that much time off-set together.”

Kristen Stewart will do a "diamond job" in Snow White and the Hunstman,, says her co-star Sam Claflin.
The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides actor, who plays Prince Charmant in the fairytale re-telling, told Digital Spy that Stewart will relish the challenge of playing a character so different to her Twilight alter ego Bella Swan.

"I've only done one tiny scene with Kristen so far, but I have every hope in her," Claflin said. "I truly believe and trust in her and I'm pretty sure she'll do an absolutely diamond job of it.

"I'm pretty sure she's excited about the challenge."

Stewart and Claflin's Snow White project, also starring Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen and Chris Hemsworth as The Hunstman, will be released next year shortly after Tarsem Singh's rival Snow White movie led by Lily Collins and Julia Roberts.

Clafin insisted that he isn't concerned about the other Snow White movie, adding that two similar stories can exist side-by-side.

He explained: "They're two completely different projects altogether. As much as they've obviously got the same premise, you could say that about so many things. The Hangover and The Inbetweeners, for example, are different films but basically about boys going out and getting drunk.

"The beautiful thing is I think both directors have very different ideas of where they're going with it. I have a friend who's in the other one so it's nice that we keep each other updated. I'm excited to see that one as much as I'm excited to see the one I'm in."

Claflin's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is out on Blu-ray and DVD now. Snow White and the Huntsman is scheduled to open in cinemas on June 1, 2012.
