Chris Hemsworth Talks about Kristen and Her Fame

Chris Hemsworth claims Kristen Stewart experiences a “different sort of fame” because Twilight has “hysterical” fans.

The Australian hunk appeared alongside the actress in Snow White and the Huntsman. Chris feels relieved that despite appearing in hit movies such as Thor and Avengers Assemble, he can still maintain some normality in his life. The star has sympathy for Kristen, who hits headlines all over the world for both her career and private life.

“I think it’s a different sort of fame. With the utmost respect, Twilight’s certainly a teen audience… Sort of hysterical kind of fanbase, you know? Whereas Avengers is across all ages and people just love the films – and it’s a little different from what she experiences,” he told the latest edition of British magazine Empire. “I am, in my everyday life, most of the time, not looking like Thor. Whereas the character she played in Twilight and her walking down the street, they’re pretty similar – they’re both human and relatable.

“I think for that reason, it’s when the character is even more relatable and closer to who you are in your everyday life, the line gets blurred. The Avengers was a different thing and we certainly didn’t have hundreds of people outside our hotels like they do.”

Chris Hemsworth Talks About Kristen

How was your on-set relationship with Kristen Stewart while making Snow White and The Huntsman?

It was great, besides when she punched me in the face. That’s a true story. It was pretty painful; that was a big punch. No, it was fantastic. She had a really strong attitude about where her character should go, which is good. You don’t want someone who sits on the fence.

*Spoiler Alert*

In the movie, Chris gets to plant a kiss on Kristen Stewart, who is Snow White to his Huntsman. “She’s fantastic,” he said of the “Twilight” actress. “She had a really strong opinion of where she wanted to take the character and who the character was. She was very enthusiastic. She set the tone and led the charge. It was great. We had a lot of fun.”

He said the big success of the “Twilight” movies had not affected Kristen at all. “Kristen was introduced on such a big scale and in a franchise setting,” he commented. “Often, that overshadows everything else. She worked incredibly hard to show that acting is what she loves. With this film, she’s able to showcase that. The first thing I noticed was how headstrong and focused she was about what she wanted to achieve. There was no wavering in her commitment.”

Chris Hemsworth Talks About Watching SWATH and Mentions Kristen

This year, he’ll open two summer blockbusters, reprising the thunder god in Whedon’s The Avengers -- alongside a dizzying cast of costars (such as Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Evans) -- and starring in a darkly gothic fairytale retelling, Snow White and the Huntsman. He drops a mention of being invited to a personal preview screening of the latter with his costars: “And Charlize and Kristen and I all could not believe how amazing it was.” He doesn’t mention the surnames, Theron and Stewart, because he doesn’t have to.

Chris Hemsworth Talks About Working with Kristen with Glamour UK

Chris Hemsworth has opened up about working with Kristen Stewart on Snow White And The Huntsman at the UK premiere of Avengers Assemble in London.

When asked what it was like to star opposite Stewart, Hemsworth said: "It was great! [She showed a] great amount of integrity and commitment to that role, and I think we all came into it knowing what the director Rupert was capable of, and we knew that if we did our bit it would be something special. So far, the film looks pretty impressive."

Chris Hemsworth Talks About Kristen at Avengers Junket

Could Snow White take down Thor?

Not necessarily, but Chris Hemsworth, 28, said Kristen Stewart, 22, has an open invitation to hang with the badass boys of Marvel’s The Avengers.

“Hell ya,” Chris told Celebuzz at The Avengers junket when we asked if Snow White and the Huntsman is really as badass as we are all expecting. But would she hold her own with the superheros?

“I think so,” smiled Hemsworth. “Why not? We need some more girls.”

In all seriousness, Chris was very genuine when praising SWATH and Stewart. “She’s very talented. It was great working with her,” he said, adding that Kristen is “awesome” at playing the fearless heroin.

Chris Hemsworth mentions Kristen in an interview with UK Glamour Mag

EN Movies - Chis Hemsworth says Kristen Stewart kept teasing him about being a sex symbol on the set of their new movie.

The Australian hunk has set hearts racing with his good looks and has appeared on the list of Glamour magazine’s sexiest men. Chris feels uncomfortable with attention on his appearance and has revealed that Kristen couldn’t stop mocking him while they were shooting Snow White and the Huntsmen.

“Far from encouraging, Kristen reminded me that I was like, 47th on the list. Her and the little people playing the dwarves were all laughing about it,” he told the May issue of UK magazine Glamour.

How was working with Kristen Stewart?

She was great. She had a very strong opinion of where she wants to take this character and a real sense of justice. She needed to start off innocent and naive, but get to the point of where she's a hardened warrior and will no longer bow down to the pressure of the evil queen. We spend alot of time through the film playing with scenes and working out how to drive the story forward. Is this moving forward or a digression? If it is? We have to work it out and keep tracking it, which you always do, but she certainly didn't just roll on in and throw it to the side. She was right there among it.

Chris Hemsworth Talks About Working with Kristen and SWATH Love Triangle

image host

Kidzworld: You got punched.
Chris: Well you can see that it’s swelling going up my nose.

Kidzworld: Did Kristen do that?
Chris: We misjudged one and I head-butted her fist with my nose which didn’t turn out too well for me.

Kidzworld: Owww! Can you talk about working with Kristen?
Chris: She’s great. We both loved the script from the beginning. We both read it and had a huge amount of excitement coming into it and both love working with [director] Rupert [Sanders] and she leaves no stone unturned in her prep with the script. She’s always asking questions and trying to find out what’s the real truth in the scene but she’s great. It keeps you on your toes and the scenes are all the better for it.

Kidzworld: Can you tell us about the rumored love triangle in the movie? [Chris and Sam Claflin who plays the prince and Kristen].
Chris: It’s not so much a love triangle. We haven’t really finished shooting it yet so we don’t know what it’s gonna turn into. It’s kind of what the individual characters feel for each other. I think they are kind of unaware of whether anyone else is involved in that mix. It’s not quite as public or an open as a love triangle is. It’s not that obvious. I think it’s more of a [subtext]. They all come from a different part of the universe we’re creating and can find themselves getting along in moments and not in other moments. I think it makes an interesting mix.

Kristen talks about working with Chris Hemsworth in SWATH

The 21-year-old, whose mother is an Australian, originally from Queensland, feels very at home with co-star Chris Hemsworth.

“I feel so incredibly comfortable around him. There is a very particular Aussie mentality and he has got it. He epitomises it,” Stewart told The Daily Telegraph.

“He’s really smart and he’s very impassioned, but he’s also really funny and light and kinda loud”

“His accent is funny. I can’t do it, I’m always trying to mimic him but I cannot do it!”

Snow White and the Huntsmana is a Lord of the Rings-style epic reimagining of the classic fairytale, in which Stewart’s Snow White is a warrior princess on a mission to take down the Evil Queen Ravena (Charlize Theron), with the help of Hemsworth’s Huntsman.

It is currently shooting in England and will be released in June 2012.

“I have an English accent in the film, that’s much easier for me for some reason. That Australian thing is tough,” Stewart said.
