“She had sliced her foot and everyone was worrying about would she wear heels or flats or one heel, crutches or no crutches,” manicurist Ashlie Johnson told Us. “She tried so many options, she was really a trouper.”
“Kristen was nervous about her crutches so having her friends around playing music was just what she needed,” hairstylist Danilo said. “We all were trying to make her feel better and her friends were trying to tell her she’d be fine, she has insecurities about being in front of people so today was even tougher.”

The On the Road actress was forced to use them to help her make her way onto the red carpet after she stepped on glass.
The star's makeup artist, Beau Nelson, tells PEOPLE she "cut the ball of her foot, quite severely, on glass two days ago." But a true pro, Stewart, 22, managed to pose for photographs without any crutches, showing off her cream-colored Reem Acra gown. Nelson adds that Stewart is in "a little bit of pain" and it was a scramble to find suitable flats!

"Oh no!" Hathaway said.
"I know, I'm an idiot," Stewart replied. "But congratulations!"
"Please tell me you're going on stage with those," Hathaway said, pointing to the crutches.
"Nope. I'm gonna hobble," Stewart said.
"Well, break a leg," Hathaway said. "Oops."
Stewart said she stepped on glass.
"I just hope it doesn't open up right now," she said backstage.

I know it's her style, and I like it, but is the Oscars, not the MTV movie awards...Also, I know that's how she usually is, but she looks extra uncomfortable...couldn't stop shaking her leg. Overall, this look didn't wow me. She had better dresses/hairstyles for the Breaking Dawn and On the Road premieres/screenings red carpets last year. Still, I like her. Good luck at the Oscars!

Your right i do like her dress but the hair i would not said anything if it was the mtv movie awards or teen choice awards but this is the oscars they should made her in a bun curly and bring curly hair on both sides of her face orthey should made her hair curly and swept her hair to the sides with a comb that has diamons and put a really chuncky bracelet and a big ring that would of shine the dress more and i know kristen dosent like putting jewelry but like i said again this is the oscars.

DeleteI have to agree with you on Kelly Osborne being rude and jealous. Since Thursday when it was announced Kristen would be presenting Kelly used this to advertise their live stream coverage. When it started the first thing she did was attack Kristen and Rob by saying that Rob had broken up with Kristen and from what she new the rumors were true. Then she goes on praising Rob and Jennifer Lawrence as the new Dior couple and how they should ettogether since they are single now. I think she wants Rob. I am tired of her already and if she wants to cast stones at someone she needs to start throwing them at her own house. Her family are a bunch of drug addicts that spent years trashing others while they got intoxicated off booze and drugs and lived off their rock daddy's music income until it ran out. I just remember the show the Osbornes where they let the dogs go around their house pooping on everything while Kelly whinned about her mother not letting her get more tatoos, pericings, or sleep with a bunch of men at the same time. The brother was in rehab several times on the show along with Kelly. Can Kelly say Kristen has ever done the things she has done? No she can't. So upstanding they are not and I would go as far as saying they are Euroe trash. Someone needs to tell Kelly purple hair went out in the 80s and she looked like a fat hag in that too tight dress she had on. Fashion Police need to come to her house and arrest her dressing like a has been rock star in the eightes. I can't believe they have her on Fashion Police giving advise on fashion when she certainly has none herself. think Kristen's fans need to send E!News emails letting them know MS. Trashy Osborne's comments about Kristen were not appreciated.
DeleteIt's so strange. Her makeup looks perfect...gorgeous...in most of the pictures. However, in some pics, her cheeks look too pink. I really like her dress. Her hair is a little messy...however, I wonder if it looks that way because she kept running her fingers through it. I wonder what happened to her foot. She also seems to have bruises on her arm. Poor Kristen! Kudos to her for showing up in crutches.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful no doubt about it. I think clumsy Kristen is back......in as much as her having a good time she must be extra careful accidents can happen anytime. Especially the doctor is still on the other side of the world and impossible to come home and take care of the injured.

ReplyDeleteFirst when they showed Kristen on crutches she made a comment on how she hurt her anke or something and didn't use crutches on a red carpet. Then when they showed Kristen posing for pics, someone asked well what do we think of the dress. Kelley said "I guess she looks pretty, for her" and Ryan sounded offended (yeah Ryan!) and said "what do you mean, for her, you can't say that she is a beautiful girl" something to that effect anyway. I have lost ALL respect for Kelley, like someone else said, this is the second time I have heard her disrespect Kristen, first at BD2 premiere, now this. I watched that entire red carpet show, she didn't say anything bad about anyone else, but you could here the disgust in her voice about Kristen.

I would have preferred it if he pinned her hair up. When it comes to the dresses and the hair, they have stylist for these things and its not like she wake up and pick out stuff from her closet. People are paid to do that where award shows are concerned. By the way, this is best dress ever on her for me, second to the red Cosmopolis Cannes premiere dress. Even with her hair down, she looked fucking amazing. Thank you.

(I'm feeling pleasantly lightheaded... :-) ) She is A VISION to behold -- so soft, sweet, & lovely... & made even MORE desirable by her obvious graceful confidence & pure delight in being present for the ceremony, despite having a painful injury requiring her to wear that elegant gown with crutches! AMAZING. In my eyes, everything about her look tonight is divine... a PERFECT reflection of her unique & beautiful soul. And... she has THE MOST DELICIOUS backside I have EVER seen in my entire life. I could seriously stare at it in absolute AWE for hours & hours, LOL!! I know that beauty is a fairly subjective thing, but, to me, she is unquestionably the epitome of it... ReplyDeleteI know it's kind of her nervous habit to be all awkward acting but I'm getting a bit tired of it. I am a fan, however; I enjoy her movies and think she's absolutely gorgeous but her insecurities come off like bad teen angst to those who don't normally follow her. I'm scared it'll hurt her career as she does seem completely disinterested in it to those not used to seeing her and "too cool" for whatever she's doing. I wish she would have done something more with her hair, covered her bruises, and worn a more manageable dress considering her injury. I'm only critical because she deserves to get that role that may win her an Oscar like Jennifer Lawrence, I just think people aren't going to take her seriously if she doesn't get herself a bit together more.

She can't walk the way she needs to so her hair is gonna look like crap. I think she looked amazing. That dress was to die for. The fact that she still came and presented is amazing. I've stepped on a nail on the ball of my foot and believe me, walking is not easy to do and a deep cut, ouch! If you take a look at her eyes you can tell she's in pain and hasn't rested well. She should be admired for being there not criticized because you don't like her hair. And you wonder why she dodges the cameras. We are suppose to be her fans. Have some compassion. I agree with both of you!! I didn't know that history of Kelly's family - someone should definitely let Kelly know that people that live in GLASS HOUSES should not throw stones. Kelly's only claim to FAME is the trashy reality show her family did but Kristen earned her FAME through her OWN hard work and not through her parents.

ReplyDeleteI love her dress! The detailing is exquisite! Her hair is beautiful, but maybe too disheveled for this event? If she wore her hair like that Veronica Lake style from the LA premiere, it would have been more appropriate. Also, I'm not sure why she didn't cover her bruises. There's makeup for that. I hope her foot heals soon! I can just imagine how much pain she's in.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is appropriate to reduce them to some imbeciles that we can teach how to do their job, they are professionals and I'm sure they know what to do. When we think the bruises should be covered then they also have thought of it. I think they covered the bruises! Just imagine how bad must Kristen be injured, that the bruises are visible through the makeup! I think she did everything excellent, she was breathtakingly beautiful, and yes, her hair is wonderful just the way it is!

Kelly Osbourne has a problem with Kristen because she gets noticed by everyone whether they like her or hate her she attracts a lot of attention and interest and Kelly wants that for herself, lets face it, KO wants any kind of attention as she makes no effort to mask her obnoxious personality. It can't possibly have anything to do with Kristen's indiscretion as she would then have to hate her own mother who broke up Ozzy's first marriage. ReplyDeleteOK, here's the thing. Last night was bad. And what bothers me is that I feel REALLY bad too like it's a personal matter. She had LOTS of negative feedback and I can't say it was unfair. The hair was not the biggest deal, she could have done something different with it but I don't think it would be a matter if she had stopped "playing" with it. But it wasn't a big deal. The dress was beautiful. I want to believe that the "leg twitching" when she was posing was because she was in pain. You could definitely see she was in pain. I also know that people love to bash her, and other actors, based on pictures from the audience, just because they weren't smiling for the 2 seconds the camera was on them. That's BS. But the award presentation she did with Daniel Radcliffe was awful. And please somebody back me up on this. I can't be the only one. I love her so much, I connect with that awkwardness or whatever you want to call because I am like that too. But she has to do something about her thing. She is a public figure. She had to do something for the 30 seconds she presented the award. I only saw a small video from youtube, and she coughed again before she began speaking, like she did at the other Oscars, which makes her look unprepared. She look terribly bored when she was speaking! Why Kristen? Why can't she just seem a little cheerful for 30 freaking seconds! Can we blame now the hundreds of idiots who say she is expesionless and all this other BS? And she also forgot to speak at a point when it was her cue. It's the Oscars, it's really a big deal. And we can't blame it all on the leg/foot. Especially at the award presentation. I don't know, maybe she was in so much pain she couldn't stand it, but it was the Oscars and they are really important. And she could also have been a bit tipsy.

I agree with you. I love her and I respect her if she doesn't want to play the "cheerful, smiley star" when she doesn't feel it, but I think that she should just be a little bit more professional in her public speaking: I'm not saying she should smile at the camera all the time and act all "anne hathaway" 'cause we know it's just not part of her personality and it would be totally out of her character . Her " awkwardness " it's also a little bit the reason why we fell in love with her in first place, but when she is on stage she should just be a little more serious about it 'cause this is part of her job. At the beginning it was cute to see how nervous and naive she was doing all these new "business experiences", but she was like 18 at the time and they were her first steps,now we all know she should know what expects her and be prepared for it . For example, my personality is similar to hers but if I have to do an exam ( in university in Italy we usually have a "colloquium" as exam's form ) and I am freaking out and I know there is no way I can look cool, relaxed and well disposed , then I just try to be concentrate and look focused . So please don't kill me ... it's just an opinion !

And also, I agree with anon 11:56 about her having a cold, it seemed like she did. But the thing you said about not being able to do better than her, that's normal for you, but like anon 4:23 said she was invited to the awards for the second time, she is an actress, a public figure, and it was a really prestigious ceremony. You've got Day-Lewis, Spielberg, Hooper, DeNiro, Bigelow and other producers and important film people looking at you and, because this ceremony is also about public relations, her presence should be a little stronger. Unless she was that sick that she couldn't operate, so I'm sorry. But we all love her, just remember that. ReplyDeleteAll this fuss over Kristen's hair and suggesting she do something with it because this is the oscars and not the MTV awards.someone suggested she brush her hair. Someone called you an ass and while I think that is harsh, I get where it is conning from. Surely you cannot be oblivious or that out of touch with the way things work in that line of business. For award shows they have a team of specialist, for clothing, for shoes, for jewelry, for hair ( I mean the guy tweeted about doing her hair). So for you to assume she woke up, put on her dress and barely brush her hair is a bit annoying especially when they have a team of people doing their job.

DeleteI think I am done on this site. I turned off E's coverage and went to ABC. Kelly made another swipe about couples being together as a business deal and I know it was aimed at Kristen and Rob. I am also tired of the crap that gets heaped on Kristen on this site. Hollywood does enough of that so why should we. And yes I'm sure she was in pain. She even mentioned in the comments above that she hoped it didn't open up, meaning the cut. If it was deep she probably isn't suppose to walk on it and she may even have stitches. If you watch her when she is on the crutches she is not using it much. And I've had to be on crutches for foot surgery to remove a cyst on my heel and I can tell you that for the first couple of days you are not allowed to put weight on it. If she cut the ball of her foot, that is the pad of the foot right behind the toes and where you put a lot of your weight, then she is in pain. I am so embarassed that a lot of you are just as bad as Kelly at dissing her. And again she talked about having ADHD in an interview. She said when she was younger. Well it does get better with age, but one aspect of it is being very self-conscious. I know because I am ADHD. I'm sure she would have done better last night had she not been injured. I thought she did fine. And if you didn't notice Daniel was watching her and helped her off stage. So quit treating her like Hollywood does. And Rob is in Australia filming the Rover. He should be done this week. Geez, act like fans, not foes! If I was her I wouldn't give a rats ass about the fans if this is how they are going to treat her. She looked amazing. Would you have done what she did if you were injured? She could have bowed out. It's happened with other celebs. I am really diappointed with the comments about her. You must believe the crap as well or you wouldn't be dissing her like this. There are a lot of people who are much older than her who are shy. That is her personality and it's probably not going to change. You should give her an 'A' for at least trying. A deep gash on the bottom of your foot where all your weight is being distributed has to be painful and then the crutches digging into your armpits has to be uncomfortable but she made it all look so effortlessly. ReplyDeleteEasier said than done! It is not in Kristen's nature (obviously) to be glorified or glamorized. She's not comfortable with it and she shouldn't have to conform to any standard you have for actors. Kristen was fortunate to grow up in the industry and developed a passion for the craft. She hates talking about herself and would rather talk about her role instead. Some actors love the lime light, some use it to their advantage, some flaunt it every chance they get - Kristen is not that way and never has been.

Nicole Kidman said it best when she said that she is shy by nature and she was the one hiding behind her mother's dress when people would stare at her as a little girl. She said, being an actress allowed her to be free. It was a place she could express herself without being shy. I was a extremely shy person when I was in my teens and in my twenties. Even my early thirties. I remember being selected by my high school principal to read a poem for the senior class graduation. I was shaking like a leaf, I don't know how I got on that stage, or how I even read that poem, I was nervous, and to make matter worse, I could hear those girls making fun of how nervous I was. The thing is, I wasn't shy with people, I just got this panic attack when I had to stand in front of people to speak or just being put out there. It stops with age. You grow up and you see the world for what it really is, and all that panic and shyness goes away. Its like bring it on, seen that, done that, please, show me something new! I was driving in my car a couple of years ago when my daughter was about 7 years old. My son was in the back seat with her, my husband in the front. A song came on and we started singing to it, all of us, except my daughter, (who really never joins in……so shy). It got to the high notes, we stopped (we couldn't even try with those notes, so we all stopped). There was this voice, this deep opera like voice that would make the hair on the neck stand up. It took us a minute to realize it was our shy Michelle belting it out. My husband pulled over, like he just struck gold. We were all in shock. "Sing again Michelle", sing again, please!" All eyes on her, waiting, waiting. Michelle is sixteen now, but that day, when she was seven, would be the last time we will ever hear her sing again. She is that shy. There are your drama queens (and they are all over Hollywood) who are dying to be heard and seen. Its what they live for, "look at me!" You lift a camera and they pose, and pose, this way, and that way. You shove a microphone in front of them and they will talk your ears off, telling you everything about them, them, all about them. There are two kinds in Hollywood; the drama queens, and the ones who just want to do their craft and call it the day. The microphone and the camera is not the favorite part of their job, they are shy creatures, but they sock it up, and they do the best they can. Luckily, it gets better with age.

DeleteEven if Rob wanted to be there, he's not about to jump on a plane 1/2 way around the world to be Kristen's date. The time change alone would make that impossible nevermind completely hold up production on the movie (Rover). I'm sure he was as supportive as he could be from where he was... and Oscars or not, he's always supportive of her (and her of him). Hopefully a month from now, he'll be home. She did an excellent job, injury and all.

ReplyDeleteI think Kristen did her duty well last night as a presentor,she's probably in a lot of pain and could bowed out but chosed to ride it out and and be done with it.About her hair,i don't think it 's her fault,her hair stylist could have put it up securely so she wouldn't play with it as much,hence the messy look on her in some of the pictures,it's their job i think.Her dress is gorgeous which we'll probably see in a couple of days with other actress,they always say they hate her style but they copy her all the time,like her hair in BD2 LA premiere,everybody is wearing their hair sideswept after she wore it like that as well as her seetrough dress.Ruth though, should make Kristen sing or talk more in front of the audience live once in a while,she woud get over her nervousness.Otherwise ,always love Kristen ,no matter what she wear ,say or do.

ReplyDeleteI love Kristen, God knows, I love her as my own children and it is said, last night was not his best night, that dress was beautiful and would have looked much if he had his crutches. The only thing I think is that this girl is beautiful in all circumstances. Every day I admire especially being much older than her. She has endured more pressure than anyone in the world and has not succumbed to drugs or alcohol, she loves Rob being aware that being his girlfriend gets a lot of hate for many women in the world. She recognizes his mistakes and does not presume to be the most good, beautiful or worthy person. She is well above the money. And last but not least comes to a cermonia Oscar on crutches just to fulfill a commitment to knowing all the feedback we receive. Now that the world would like women to be as brave as this girl at 22 years. Now we will see in a few years radiant boost a statuette for her and then I'll be as proud as if he were one of my children

ReplyDeleteI think people is kind of picky nowaday. Nobody is perfect. Jen Lawrence fell when accepting the awards, audience stood up for her. KStew attended the same event with an serious injured foot(even have to use cruthes for support) and how many people stood up for her? Having seen the comments everywhere about KStew at Oscar, I think people should learn to show a little bit of sympathy to someone who's suffering. I feel sad that people kind of lost the compassion to other.

DeleteI feel so sorry for her. I pray she doesn't see the hate and criticism and just pure bullying that is targeted at her online. It's sickening how people purely hate her and don't even know her. If her foot was sliced and she had bruises on her arms, don't you feel like it would have been best to drop out. However, I love that she pushed through and stayed through to her committment. This is what sets her apart from other actresses. She is mature beyond her years, and she does not have an identity problem. Kristen and Robert are not your typical Hollywood actors. They play by their own rules and I love it. I wish them much success in their careers as well as their personal life.

DeleteI think she looked great. She gets nervous and plays with her hair so of course it would be a little messy and the hate she gets is nothing new. She is a toughie!! Between comments on her and Anne Hathaway I honestly am truly disgusted with the way we women trash each other. There is no excuse!! These ladies are in Hollywood at the Oscars. Whether it was presenting or being a nominee, they are doing fine in a male dominated place and winning. JLaw and Emma Stone ,Emma Watson, all these young ladies are making their mark. I don't say anything bad about them because I know how I feel when others say something about Kristen. All I can say is the double standard from last night WAS DISGUSTING just turned me off and I am almost immune to haters now. Just follow who you like as an actress and just laugh at the stupidity of these people. At the end of the day Kristen seems to have come out with her mind in tack, family and friends and is rich and still very much in business despite what the nitwits wanna believe. Look how they go into a fit everytime she is somewhere, ANYWHERE, personal or professional and not at home depressed and bitter like them.. Last but not least hang on to your knickers ladies cause when Rob gets home after D day (March 2) and they see them together March, April etc. well.. lets just say I have my popcorn ready to laugh till it hurts!
