New Rob interview with szonline: Departure from the Twilight World

His early career as Cedric Digorry in the fourth "Harry Potter" movie has long since forgotten, because for millions of fans around the world, Robert Pattinson is just still the charming vampire Edward - and perhaps the biggest heartthrob of the cinema under the sun. Three years after "Twilight - Bis (s) to the dawn" and a few other movies like "Remember Me" or "Water for Elephants," the Briton the immortal lovers, is now playing in "Breaking Dawn - Bis (s) at the end of the night 1 ". It is the fourth and penultimate time the final, already wacky, Finale will follow in November 2012. In an interview Robert Pattinson looks despite his mere 25 years of fairly mellow and cool.

Mr. Pattinson, five films and one long to play the same role - that is a challenge?

The most difficult thing about the "Twilight" movies for me was always, be careful that you had not to repeat itself. Especially when Edward, because the figure is changing so, unlike some of the Bella, not really. He is no more, he does not sweat, he does not cry, he makes himself never dirty. Not so simple that you can not always look the same since.

But is not "Breaking Dawn Part 1" placed special difficulties? After all, there is a wedding and honeymoon.

Yes, it was definitely a new experience, because for the first time Edward and thereby makes everything that follows, by a certain change. I was honestly easier than ever to slip into his skin. It felt more natural, somehow he got a bit more human.

Also because of the much-discussed sex scene?

Sure. While rotating the scene was actually quite straightforward, very easy. Our director Bill Condon has made sure that no one had to feel uncomfortable. Strange was only the pressure of expectation, because we really felt we had under observation before we had begun to turn at all. And even though there was actually a thing that will make most people more or less the same.

Were you on the last day of shooting happy to Edward behind?

Rob and Kristen interviews with Empire Online

Kristen

Twilight has turned her from indie darling into a star, almost despite herself, but as the end of the series approaches Kristen Stewart seems to be more relaxed and comfortable with the response to the saga, and positively confident about the two-part finale. We talked to her recently to learn more about Bella's wedding, the fans and what she's working on next...
How do you feel about Breaking Dawn being a two-part film?I really like it! It’s such a different speed; it’s very very close to the experience of reading the book. I think we were lucky enough to have so much time to spend on every bit of the book. I don’t feel that anything is left out, whereas I watched all the movies before and felt a little sad about certain parts that weren’t in and we don’t really feel that way this time, it’s cool.
Is it still weird to see yourself on the big screen?Yeah, it always is the first time you watch it. You keep this list of, like, checks and balances and… it’s like you have to make sure everything is in. You also have the chance of working with people like Bill [Condon] who really love doing what they do and are willing to talk everything through. And if you feel something should be changed, if you feel something you did on set is missing he’s always willing to go on in and look at it.

New Rob Interview with The Scotsman

Robert Pattinson is bewildered by just how famous he is. As the Twilight saga draws to a close, the actor, a curious mix of charm and awkwardness, offers a glimpse into his surreal world

“I was on the 209 bus last week,” I blurt to Robert Pattinson by way of an introduction. He looks wary. It’s fair enough. We’re in Los Angeles, in a room on the 10th floor of the Four Seasons hotel and the 209 is a bus that trundles through south west London. The reason I mention it is because it stops in Barnes, the leafy suburb where Pattinson grew up and where his parents still live. It’s a village, really, quaint and terribly English, peppered with ye olde pubs patronised by older gents in red socks and corduroys, the casual attire of the retired banker. It’s most definitely not Beverly Hills.

“That’s the bus that goes to where my parents live,” he says, looking confused. “And it’s the bus I took to my prep school in Sheen.”

I didn’t mention the 209 to freak Pattinson out, although I’m quickly learning how skittish he is. I wasn’t trying to be quirky, or to ingratiate myself; I was aiming to just say something ordinary, something simple and real, because it’s not difficult to work out that simple and real are not major features of Pattinson’s life. After all, he’s Edward Cullen, brooding vampire hero of the Twilight Saga, the cinematic juggernaut that started in 2008 and, with a release each year since, draws to a close with Breaking Dawn, the first part of which is out this month, followed by the second and final part, already shot but to be released in November 2012.

Before Twilight, Pattinson, 25, was anonymous. Now, there isn’t really anywhere he can go without being recognised. Pie shops in Yorkshire, karaoke bars in Texas – there’s no escape from Edward Cullen and the millions of fans who want their necks nibbled, mothers who’d like their daughters signed (really) or at the very least a photograph to put on Facebook.

It’s the reason Pattinson lives in hotels, to stay one step ahead.

Rob talks Edward and Breaking Dawn - New Interview in Candy Mag (Philippines)

Transcript of Rob's quotes via Robstenation

"I think we have influenced pop culture and vampire stuff, because there are a lot of things that look exactly like Twilight now. There was a strange energy about it which I don't think anyone saw coming. Maybe it will be emulated again."

About Edward "There are certainly incredibly bizarre moments in the story. But I think its good. I think in every movie -Edward becomes more and more human. He is like stunted with experiences. He does not have normal life experiences. I've never really seen Edward as a hero to be honest. I think both Edward and Jacob are almost the opposite of what a hero is. I think both of them are incredibly blinkered to a lot of things. Throughout the series , they become a little bit more open to the rest of the world and other people's interests, especially Edward."

"I think its really in this film and the second part, when he has a kid, that he is allowed to think. He is controlling, introverted, kind of insular person. As soon as he has a kid, it completely changes his mind. He becomes a different person. He can accept his maturity. Whereas before, he just refused to accept anything about his life , other than the fact that he almost puts all his love to Bella. He almost puts all his responsibilities into that relationship so he doesn't have to deal with anything. Its like the only thing keeping him alive is this girl. There is nothing else to him in this world so he has not really claimed anything. And then as soon as you bring in another creature into the world, then your realm of understanding and your realm of interests and priorities have become much wider."

"Since I fell into acting to begin with, I have been basically learning and just experimenting with how to be better. What I actually wanted to do with myself through each movie is to experiment. Up until the first Twilight, you could really try and find your style and share your ideas without being judged too harshly. But then, after the first one, everyone is watching your work.

"Because your movies are popular, you are the most seen. And you are expected to be the finished product. You are supposed to be polished. You are supposed to be a professional. But that just does not happen overnight. Maybe it does with some people . I do not know. I do not necessarily want to be defined by that."

"I have been kind of trying to think of how to achieve want I want to achieve in the context of everyone watching and kind of judging. It kind of stressed me out for a little bit. But now I guess, I am more relaxed because its the end of the series. I used to have to wedge in other movies between Twilght movies. And I was always concerned that I might be oversaturating audiences with Edward, Edward, Edward all the time. But as it has finished, I feel like I do not really have anything to lose and I can do whatever I feel might be cool."

New Rob, Kristen and Rob interview with 15 a 20

Everytime I interview Kristen I’m surprised at how beautiful she is. Perfect skin, not a drop of make up. She’s wearing jeans, a grey shirt, sneakers, definitely the same Kristen, but much more comfortable than three years ago when I first interviewed her for Twilight, where she was very nervous, fidgeting on her seat.

You character goes through a lot in this movie. She gets married, she has sex, she has a baby, she becomes a vampire…
  • I know, that why they had to split the movie in two (laughs).

What was the most difficult part of filming this movie?
  • It’s a moment that I’ve been waiting for so long. Every single thing that happened in the previous movies was amplified this time, because of all the pressure and the people waiting fo the movie, and especially because these are very iconic moments in the saga, and we need to make justice to them, which is a little terrifying, but you need to feel that way, you need to be afraid because fear gives you the strength to carry on important tasks.

What can fans expect this time?
  • Personally, I love the beginning because it’s the first time you meet Edward and Bella, and they’re having fun, everything is so light and happy at first, but now she has to deal with different issues because she’s married, they now have problems with each other, and one of them is she’s having this baby, and he wants to kill the baby/fetus (laughs). And for the first time, the perspective changes to Jacob’s, and nobody else’s.

How did you prepare for the movie?
  • I did the same thing I always do, basically. In the books Stephenie gives a very visceral description of events, and she was on the set all the time, which was great, because only she knows these characters so well.I just took the best of the book and tried to play it.

What was your favorite part?
  • The wedding, because everybody was waiting to film it, and part of it felt very real, so it was very emotional.

What can you share about the sex scene?
  • Oh, God! The sex was a big deal. There’s so many things going on: the wedding, the first time and giving birth. The sex scene was filmed almost right at the beginning of filming, so that part was over quickly, thank God.

Rob's Interview

Première : How long did it take to film both movies ?
RP: 8 months!

P: Not to quote her, but Kristen Stewart told us 6.
RP: I had to stay longer.

P: Were there some mornings when you got up and asked yourself: ‘I can’t believe we’re still filming this movie.’?
RP: For sure, I mean we spent two months shooting in the same room in front of a huge green screen.

P: I hope it was the sex scene!
RP: Nope! This one we wrapped in a day. No, we had to film scenes where nothing happens. We were trapped in this green screen room with fake snow all over the floor and we spent our days barely saying a word, looking each other in the , trying to look as intense as possible.

P: Nobody told you you were part of an experiment?
RP: That’s it exactly, ‘We’re going to put you in this green screen for 8 weeks, we’ll see which one will break down first.’

P: Did Bill Condon come on set with his Oscar beneath his arm?
RP: No, that’s not like him. But I don’t think he realize what he got himself into. He’s someone that doesn’t stress much tho or he’s really good at hiding it!
It’s funny, really. Everyone came to him screaming: ‘Bill did you see this? It’s nonsense!’ He’d just look at them and say ‘I know, it’s crazy.’ And the next second, he was gone.

P: It’s a way like any other of solving problems.
RP: You should have seen him. ‘I completely agree with you. It’s a disaster.’ And then he’d been gone for the rest of the day. Bill is hilarious and he put some of his sense of humor in the movie. The Twilight saga is not really known for its fun side but the previous directors seemed really attached to the angst aspect. The beginning of the last movie is the complete opposite: light, relaxing…

P: The first images of the trailer looked indeed bright and sunny.
Bill is an excellent screenwriter as well. Like Chris Weitz, who was more daring with New Moon. He wasn’t scared of drifting away from the book sometimes. In any other movie, when a line doesn’t work, we change it during filming so it flows better. But it wasn’t always possible with Twilight. If I was ever uncomfortable with a line, I was told ‘You have to say this. It’s in the book!’ Bill didn’t hesitate, ‘We’ll adjust, it’s my movie after all…’ *laughs*

P: You just made millions of fans angry.
RP: Too bad. It just reminds me of something I saw not too long ago, when I stumbled into a picture of a girl who had the famous line ‘And the lion fell in love with the lamb’ tattooed on her. I looked at it twice and she had ‘And the lamb fell in love with the lion’ instead. Can you imagine that, having a movie line ~engraved on your skin and it’s not even the right one?

P: In the first three movies, it’s always about repressing sexuality. In this one, it’s party time: midnight baths, sex scenes where the bed breaks, a rushed pregnancy… I don’t know if I can handle all of this at once.
RP: It scared me a little too, to be honest. When I heard about the last book and was said: ‘You’ll see, they sleep together all the time, it’s rough sometimes too. Jacob falls in love with a baby…’ I was dumbfounded. Summarized like this, you’d think it was the most screwed up story ever. But when you read it, it’s not as shocking/scandalous. For those who don’t know the books, I’m sure this movie is going to be by far the most interesting of the saga. We’re gone from the teenaged fantastic genre and enter a weird drama that ventures into horror at times. There are scenes were Bella looks like an alien. When the baby eats her from inside, she looks so thin and ghastly. Kristen had to wear this horrible makeup and when I’d see her come on set, I’d ask the crew: ‘'Are you sure we're filming Twilight?Isn't it supposed to be harmless and PG-13?'

P: I’m sure David Cronenberg is going to be pleased. ‘Robert just filmed the adaption of Cosmopolis by Don DeLillo.)
RP: I think he’s going to enjoy certain scenes, like the one where I open her up by biting thorugh her placenta. It wouldn’t have played up in one of his feature films, he would have filmed it with a close-up of course.

P: With Breaking Dawn, I think you will attract a new audience. Beginning with those who will want to see it for the twisted plot.
RP: They’re going to get their money's worth. It’s hilarious, No movie this size dares taking those kind of risks. But since the craziest scenes are a big part of the story going forward, it was impossible to not have them included in the film. We would look at each other everyday and say’ I think we don’t have a choice, we have to film those weird stuff.’ There was no way we would tone it down.

P: So you became an in 'oral Caesarean' expert?
RP: It was without a doubt the funniest thing I ever had to do. I’d raise my head up and I was covered with cottage cheese or whatever substance they put in there. Before filming the scene, Stephenie Meyer, a midwife, Kristen and I sat down to talk to a doctor to decide where I was supposed to bite if this situation would ever occur in real life. The doctor looked at us a bit puzzled and said: ‘I don’t think you could ever do this in real life.’ *laughs*

P: I’m getting more and more excited to see this movie…
RP: I’m eager too. I’m probably going to die laughing watching it.

P: Stop me if I’m wrong but I feel like the hysteria surrounding the saga is dying down, that you can now lead sort of a normal life…
RP: Not yet, no. In LA I have at least 40 seconds from the moment I arrive somewhere, before I get asked for my autograph. It’s Twitter’s fault. If this website didn’t exist, I’d be in peace. When I cross a glance at someone, they hurry to get their phone out. I know perfectly well that I’m screwed and that I’m going to spend a big part of my day shaking people off. It’s frustrating.

P: Is it true that you caused a riot in Brazil, when you filmed the honeymoon?
Yes, we did cause one at the airport that almost got us arrested. I still don’t know why but it was kind of scary. The immigration guy told me: ‘You’re in my country, we’re gonna play by my rules.’ ‘Whatever you want just let me leave your airport.’ *laughs*

P: How was it like on set on the last day of filming Breaking Dawn, when you had to say goodbye to 4 years of Twilight?
We were in Canada for the last day of shooting with the entire crew. A normal day on the set of Breaking Dawn, we were shooting at night, it was freezing and raining… When the first assistant announced the end with his clapperboard, everybody locked themselves up in their trailer without even having a last drink. But my last day, strictly speaking, came a bit later and it was amazing. Part of the crew got back together to film additional shots in the Caribbean. It was just Kristen and I, no worries… We were shooting in the sea so I didn’t have to have makeup on or wear my contacts. It was so hot, at the end of the day we all went out for cocktails on the beach, watching the sun rise. I then asked myself why we didn’t do this in those four years. Every difficult moment just vanished.

Kristen Interview:

P: The first Twilight movie was a teenaged love story, the second a love triangle and the third, looked almost like a war movie. How would you describe Breaking Dawn?K: It’s more a family drama. Contrary to the previous films, everybody is united in this one. The beginning of the movie sets up a ton that literally departs from the other movies, which in my opinion was what the saga truly needed. It’s fun, it’s light, we finally see the characters happy. Of course, it doesn’t last long…

P: I admit I have a soft spot for the first movie. I felt like the next two were just there to stretch the story in vain.
I understand and I agree, the first one had something. It was original and stands out by itself. I felt like the book was well represented, that Stephenie’s hand was visible. It’s the peak of the story we tried to build for 3 movies. It’s the grand finale with all the excitement that goes with it.

P: I read that Stephenie Meyer wrote the grand lines of the fourth book right after the first one, which could explain this ‘padding’ side of the second and third book.
I didn’t know about that. But it’s true that it wouldn’t be absurd in the sense that we could go directly from book one to the wedding in the fourth. At the same time, I remember Stephenie was writing the fourth book while we were filming Twilight. When I think back to that period of time, it seems so crazy to me. Nobody knew anybody, we were all different. I can see us again, actors, directors, screenwriters, going up to each other and said sort of shyly ‘Hello everyone.’ Now that we’re all so close, it feels weird.

P: You were 17 when you filmed the first movie. How did those 4 years of filming the saga changed you?
When you spend time on a project that asks for so much work, you have to feel invested; ready to defend it with your body and soul. That’s how I feel for all my movies. Twilight helped me share this passion with a bigger audience. Like everyone who reaches this level of fame, the saga is criticized a lot, but I realized that it only made me want to defend it even more. This experience helped me open up. When I was younger I felt things more strongly but I wasn’t always able to put it into words. I made tons of progress. In this field, every new project shapes you, helps you fight against your inhibitions little by little. I was a teenager when I started and I think you get better as you learn to know yourself, to make your body your own. It’s after you gain this control over yourself that you’re able to lose it when a scene demands it. Like every movie, Twilight made me grow up, maybe a bit faster than the other ones.

P: Between two movies, you filmed The Runaways and in Welcome to the Rileys. Strong and independent characters…
It wasn’t a conscious choice. Seeing as I’m a natural introvert, I guess I have to compensate by playing those kind of roles. But I’m really not against the idea of playing more weak and vulnerable characters. It would be fascinating.

P: Did some days seem long on the filming of Breaking Dawn?
It was repetitive sometimes to such an extent I felt like I was filming again scenes from the previous movies. It doesn’t mean they’re not crucial to the story but some days I felt like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. Especially when we had to stay quite some times in a house in Louisiana, Baton Rouge. We filmed all the inside scenes before going outdoors. It was intimate scenes with lots of feelings, dialogues; we filmed them all one by one endlessly. I thought it would never end, especially when you, like me, are used to independent movies that are made in 5 minutes.
Then we left for Canada, where it was freezing. Instead of being happy to finally be outside, we were dying to go back inside to get warm. The timing couldn’t have been worse. Even when we filmed the honeymoon scene in Brazil it was raining season.

P: What were the key moments of filming for you?
The ones the fans are waiting for the most: the wedding, the first love scene, the birth scene. To finally put them on tape was cathartic.

New/Old Robert Pattinson pictures & interview during Water for Elephants Berlin promotion

Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket Photobucket

Headline: I just do what I want!

DYOU: Hi Rob, might we do that interview in german?

  • Rob: (laughs) I´m afraid that would be a short interview than. I just know the words "Wiener Schnitzel" and "Frankfurter" (note: thats 2 german dishes. So he wouldn´t die for hunger in Germany LOL)

DYOU: Why did you want to play Jacob Jankowski?

  • Rob: I read the script and I loved the role of Jacob from the beginning. But I have to say, that I get a lot of scripts to read, but I don´t like most of them at all. That was very different at this movie. Everything matched from the beginning.

DYOU: Could you imagine to study veterinary medicine like Jacob?

  • Rob: Not at all! I watched the process in a Horse hospital to prepare myself for the movie. And I had to learn, that this is nothing for me. I had to shave a Horses leg, that the doctors can medicate it. I was scared to hurt the animal. But apart from this I couldn't ever imagine to study anything because I wouldn't hold it out at an University for years (laugh)

DYOU: Was it fun to act with 2 Oscar winners?

  • Rob: It was really cool, because the two gave always their full power. Such a situation is the best thing which can ever happen to you. That makes filming a lot more fun!

DYOU: Looks like you had a lot of fun during filming. Could you imagine to play a role in a comedy?

  • Rob: I don´t think that comedy would be right thing for me. I don´t think, that I´m particularly funny. Beside that, I just read one ore two funny scripts until now and they were just funny, because the main actor did his role perfect. That´s a thing I couldn't manage certainly. So I stay away from that.

DYOU: Can you pic your roles by yourself?

  • Rob: Thats the way it is! People send me a lot of scripts but I have to say that I put most of them away very soon because I´m bored. But when I like a script that I want to play in that movie absolutely. The budget doesn't really matter, the essential thing is the role and the fun.

DYOU: Does that mean, that you will not do just blockbusters in future?

  • Rob: Definitely not. I can tell you that I did and independent movie a few weeks ago. I didn't get a lot of money but I had a lot of fun in that role. ( note: thinking about, which one he meant ... think it´s Bel Ami? )

DYOU: Will you do more music in future? That´s your second huge passion ...

  • Rob: That´s my dream. Music is really cool, because there you are your own master. In a movie you are always some kind of dummy from the director. I don´t like that as a control freak (laugh) (note: Didn´t even know that he is lol) But when I do music and especially a gig on stage, that It´s just me who decides the songs I play. And I can see people´s reaction, if they like it or not. That´s why I would like to go on tour again.

DYOU: And the last question: Are you bothered about that a lot people just see you as the vampire Edward?

  • Rob: Sure, I am mad about it but I have to live with that. I always try that people see me like I really am. Otherwise it will be very hard for me to do something else in future. Try to imagine that I want to be a dentist. That wouldn´t work, because every patient would think: "The guy from Twilight is supposed to be my dentist? " (note: I wouldn´t think that I def would be your patient :D )

That´s why I will try to stay away from Vampire roles in future.

Rob in 'Tu Magazine Scans' Interview + Translation

Check all of the details from our exclusive with the hottest actor in Hollywood in which he talked about his most recent success “Water for Elephants” and gave us advances from “Breaking Dawn.”

Once again we meet with the handsome and joker actor, and this English fellow continues to reap success: his latest film “Water for Elephants” resulted in success. Furthermore, with only a few months until the premiere of the first part of “Breaking Dawn,” vampire fever is returning with more intensity. As if that’s not enough, Robert has imminent projects such as the films “Bel Ami” and “Cosmopolis”. The meeting with him was in a Four Seasons hotel in Los Angeles. Find out what he told us.

TU - You have become an actor specializing in forbidden love and other matters of the heart (in the “Twilight Saga” and “Water for Elephants” there is some of this). Do you believe there are rules for love?

Rob – There are always problems when you fall in love, especially in movies (laughs), it has been a mess for at least two that I have acted in. “Water for Elephants” has a very cool story, in it the two protagonists fall in love and make things right from the beginning to the end of the story. Furthermore, it has a happy ending! It’s great!

TU – At least Jacob, your new character in “Water for Elephants” did not die…

Rob – No, that’s cool.

TU – The story of “Water for Elephants” took place in the 30s, nothing like the current time. How would you describe those times?

Rob – Much different! (Translator note: the original text is “¡Medio rara!” and I was taught to use that as a measurement of the cooking of meat…so I’m not sure what that was supposed to be? I tried!) I always get images of what I want to do in a movie before I first read the script and concentrate on the way in which people would dress, how they would move and such details. I thought “should I move in this way, and so”…that sounds quite ridiculous (laughs).

TU – Would you like to wear those clothes?

Rob – Yes, I believe that I am not too adapted to modern clothing, and I have the body of an “old man” or something similar (laughs) since everything I used in the movie was fantastic and each garmet fit me. Now I try to put on a pair of jeans and nothing remains with me, so I tried with these pants (laughs).

TU – Do you think your life is like a circus? It seems exciting and fast-paced.

Rob – Not really. I have a boring life. I work every day, and that’s all. If I have to go somewhere I’m ready in ten minutes, sometimes I sleep in the car but I’ll be ready to attend an awards ceremony, for example. You do what you should do there, and then take a plane to return to work again.

TU – Are you still excited to see your fans?

Rob – Yes, it is fun to walk where there is a big crowd and it turns crazy. But when it is urgent to reach one side it is difficult to cope with

TU – How do you travel? Do you travel by private plane, first class, or something like that?

Rob – Airports are always difficult, especially in Los Angeles, that is very hard to travel by. But to avoid the madness what I do is take the plane 20 minutes before takeoff. That’s what I’ve done until now.

TU – And while you’re on the plane you’re not bothered?

Rob – In truth, I put my blanket over my head before I sleep. It’s easy to do this in the plane (laughs).

TU – Are you still missing your country?

Rob – Yes, and I think I always will be, there are effects that cannot be changed. Right now I’m still trying to leave behind those sad feelings. I went during Christmas, and I knew nothing of what had happened there. That situation was very depressing, the fact of having in mind the idea of a place, and returning to find that everything is completely different and nothing you see is the same.

TU – It is said that you brought your friends from England to the United States, and they accompanied you on all sides to stay strong.

Rob – Occasionally, when I’m working in Los Angles, my friends came because they had issues to settle in that city, but they would never be with me at all times. Many actors have a group and people who stay with them for like two months as an entourage. But the egos of my friends are huge, and they won’t be a part of my entourage for nothing (laughs). Maybe in New York or Los Angles with all expenses paid, but not in villages.

TU – How do you keep your feet on the ground?

Rob – The job of putting your feet on the ground…I try to carry this out all of the time. I don’t know how to say it, but I don’t hope for anything from anybody. For example, things that are “powerful” (valuable in the manner of money) do not matter to me.

TU – Where have you been in the past few months?

Rob – I was working on “Breaking Dawn” for six months in Baton Rogue, Louisiana & Vancouver, Canada.

TU – And what’s the story with the puppy you adopted on the set of “Breaking Dawn”?

Rob – He might have been put down today. I rescued him two or three days ago and the shelter was only going to keep him for ten days. It’s funny, we took a plane to get here from Louisiana. So we left the shelter, and the following day he was already traveling by private plane to be in this hotel (laughs), just like in the movie “Lady and the Tramp”.

TU – And how is it all being in the Twilight Saga? Do you still like to be Edward Cullen?

Rob – Yes, it is still crazy. The last two parts of the story are very different. It’s funny because it’s the first time the Summit studios didn’t tell me “don’t talk about this, it is a total secret,” which has changed to “if you talk about this, tell the whole world,” ha.

TU – And the movies-how are you adapting “Breaking Dawn” with all the unexpected events?

Rob – I don’t know, but the book itself is totally crazy.

TU – And how would you describe the whole matter of the wedding and the pregnancy in “Breaking Dawn”?

Rob – Fun, well, no not fun (laughs). Very resounding for the last film.

New (Small) Picture of Rob and Tai - Screen Magazine Scans & Translation

imagebam.com imagebam.com

This article is based on an interview with Rob, at the LA premiere of movie “Water For Elephants”, by a reporter from Japan’s magazine “SCREEN”.

English Translation: mina
Rob: ”I finally decided to get a dog, found him at the shelter. To tell you the truth, I wanted to adopt all the dogs there and run a “Dog Ranch” and let them do whatever they want to do. But I guess it is not the time yet; I am willing to do so in the near future. My dog which is a mixed breed, seems to get big, that’s why I named him Bear. I want to have him around me all the time, and I want to take him with me everywhere. I grew up with dogs with my family, there were always dogs in my life. If I reincarnate and become an animal I definitely want to be a dog. They would do nothing much but eat and go for a walk; and for the rest would be either watching TV or taking nap. There’s not much difference with my life anyways. I am not too much of a fan of dog food, but I would be happy with a sandwich from the In’n Out every day. I became friends with an elephant since I worked with her in “Water For Elephants”. I’ve learned that not too much hugging or petting is needed to get around with the wild animals. We treat them as a part of the family, but you never know how they think about you in return. Like, if you are moving around a huge elephant, you need to be careful, if she steps on you that’s it. You still have to be very cautious around the trained animals.”

Rob: “Me and my friends went on a road trip around the States, it was interesting; people are different in each state. There was even a place with no phones. It was fun, many people didn’t even recognize me. When I go back in England, people notice me and look down to pretend I’m not there. Some tourists notice me though.”

'Movie Star' Japan (Scans + Translation)

Photobucket

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

1) How is Kristen taking wedding or having baby in the movie「Breaking
Dawn」? Bella mast have been different from the first 2 movies.

Rob: She is taking it very well. It looks rather funny, well it is not
funny funny. The last movies are really scary somehow.

2) Do you travel with private jets or do you use commercial air lines?

Rob: It is always tough to go through the airport, especially in LA.
Like we get tickets in last 20 minutes to disguise, we sometime use
this kind of tricks to go through it. And once you get on the plane I
would hide under the blanket and take nap.(laugh)

Q:Is England still your home? Is it true that you ask your friends in
England to come visit you just to get together some times?

Rob: Well, some of my friends do visit me from England while they work
in LA. Many of the actors have followers just to spend couple of
months together or something but my friends are different. They have
pride in what they are doing, so I am sure they would say 「I don’t
need your support. It’s good to have a free hotel room in NY or in LA,
but in the middle of nowhere? no thanks.」.

Q:You are lucky to have friends like that.

Rob: Yes, but I think keeping myself in the project constantly is the
reason I can be who I am. I don’t know, but I don’t wish for too much.
I am not interested in the authority; I feel lucky to have free pair
of sunglasses, that is enough for me. I don’t know much about fame, I
don’t even know how to use them.

Q:Do you miss your country? How do you like your home country?

Rob: England is always my home for ever. There is something that never
be replaced, I feel that more than ever since I being away from there.
I used to live in Soho( mid London) , when I went there in last
Christmas vacation it looked completely different.

You feel like your home never changes, but it is not in the real life.
This last 4 years away from home was a big gap.

3)Q:Doing “WFE” made you feel like having a puppy? Who is taking care
of it now? Did you get it from shelter? What kind of dog is it?

Rob: I got him from the shelter, he was in the death row; a few days
away. The dogs in the shelter only stays there for 10 days, you know.
He was really frightened. I came here from Louisiana by private jet so
that means, he got out of the shelter and on the next day he was on
the private jet. (laugh) It sounds like “Lady and the Trump”.

4)Q:Did you get any advice for doing this movie “WFE”? Like Leo
DiCaprio sometimes asks Martin Scorsese for some advices, do you have
someone like that ? Or you hesitate to ask for advice?

Rob: I don’t have much people to ask. I am like more stubborn to prove
myself being an actor. I don’t have much friends to give me advices,
of course I do have friends who can discuss things, but many of the
actors don’t talk about how you do your jobs.

I, in the other hand, like to talk about acting with friends, but I
don’t know much of the famous actors.

Q: You’ve been working constantly. And that means you’ve been staying
in hotels, right? Don’t you miss home? Is there any tips for being
comfortable away from home?

Rob: I have my own TV to travel with. Isn’t it exciting?(laugh)

5)Q: You are beating up often in the movie “WFE”, I read that you said
it is one of the good way to break the image that people have of you.

Rob: Yes, I think so. On the set they didn’t want to do too much of
it. Francis (Laurence; Director) didn’t like too much of blood but I
thought it was good to have some bleeding. It was weird, those special
makeup artists would say “What happened to that handsome boy!”.
Production team decides in which scene, scars here and there, so they
apply same scar make up all the time. If you do the real fight it will
not be the same as planned, like scars and scrapes, it is weird. It’s
like did you fight with a grinder?

Q: Neither you nor Reese will get naked in the love scene. We were
waiting to see some very intimate sex scene in this movie.

Rob: Naked?(laugh)

Q: Did you refused it?

Rob: I don’t think you don’t want to be rated R or NC-17 with hard
core sex scene. Audience will freak out with it. Or not?

Q: When we interview your sister, she told us that you had pinups of
Keira Knightley in your bed room in your teens, is that true?

Rob: No, it was Kate Moss, not Keira. When Keira got popular, I was
old enough not to decorate my bed room with pinups.

6)About your next project “Bel Ami”

Rob: I really wanted to be involved in this project so I sure hope the
audience will like it. It was really tough shooting. The story end
with the victory of the bad guy and the production had a good
arguments over it, and they still are editing it. The audience was in
deep thoughts “It is hard to understand.”, but that is how it is
supposed to be. To tell you the truth I don’t understand at all, and
wanting to watch the same edition over and over. It is very
confusing, it’s like keep doing the test runs. I haven’t seen the
final edition yet, but I hear a lot about the each viewing, I want to
see the final edition soon. I really wish that the movie will be out
soon.

Rob's Interview with Bravo Magazine Germany + Translation

imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com

Translation via schnuffel1990 at Pattinsonlife

Robert opens his heart – Part I

How he shines! That’s my first thought when I, the Bravo reporter, meet Robert Pattinson for an interview in Berlin. The 25-year-old seems tob e really lucky. Maybe it’s beacuse of his girlfriend Kristen Stewart (21). They seem tob e so carefree when they’re together. Just happy! How does he do that? How does it work? The perfect relationship.

Could you fall in love with someone you were just friends with?

  • No. Not at all. I don’t think that friendship can turn into a great love. Because one oft he two feels different.

You mean one oft them feels not enough...

  • Exactly. It’s like this: If you were friends before, either the girl thinks she can might find someone better or the boy.

So better would be someone ‚new’?

  • Yes. I feld this way. I only spend time with girls wich I also felt drawn to. So she had to decide whether she wants to go out with me or not.

And how do you know that a girl likes you? Do you just ask?

  • In the introductory phase, it’s better not to be so direct because she might say ‚No’ to me. Better stay relaxed. Wait. That’s the best way.

Is age difference an issue for you?

  • Not at all. It doesn’t matter if you’re in love – even if she’s 95. It doesn’t matter what others think, if the feelings for each other are genuine.

Good keyword. Are your friends talking bad about your relationship?

  • They would never say something mean. But who knows what happens if we seperate someday. Maybe they complain: „Juhu, she’s gone! What I always wanted to tell you: I hated her so much.“ (Laughts.)

Tell me, when you get to know each other your girlfriend still stuck in a relationship. How do you think about to date someone who isn’t free?

  • That’s a terrible situation because you get the impression that you’re destrying a love.Bat it happens that a relationship is already approaching to end. Ans then, suddenly someone new comes into your life and you can’t conrtol your feelings.

Share the same interests or opposites attract: What makes living together easier?

  • I think the longer you’re together the more similar you become. But is shouldn’t go too far. Love only lasts i fit stays exciting.

Where’s your limit. When do you say: „No, we can’t stay together!“?

  • If she’s mean to my dog. (Laughts.) But otherwise? There are problems in any love. Only lying would be the end.

Tell me an example!

  • If she would tell nasty things about my friend and would hurt me so. Lies always come to light. Therefore: Don’t do it.

But secrets are okay?

  • Sure! I think that secrets are very important.

People always say that you shoud be honest!

  • I don’t know. In a relationship, it’s important to be diplomatic and to say things not too harsh. Total honesty could lead to a separation. And also bad: You should never control the phone of your partner. Thar’s terrible! This can never end in something good.

Your path to happiness?

  • Confidence! If one is destined to be together, then it happens.

Part II next week...

New Q&A interview with Robert Pattinson for L'Express (France)

Photobucket

Translations thanks to Sonia
Young English actor, star of the Twilight movies, he's the hero of Water For Elephants for now, while we wait for his part in Cosmopolis, the new Cronenberg...

If you were a place… If you were a place, the area of South Bank, in London. Between the Hayward Gallery, National Theatre and all other activities, I'm never bored. I would also say New York for the breathtaking skyline formed by the buildings and the fast pace of the city, whatever the time of day.

A cartoonist… Ralph Steadman, illustrator of the hilarious texts of Gonzo Highway from Hunter S. Thompson. His simple but disturbed stroke never leaves me indifferent. The other reason is, perhaps, that I can draw almost like him!

A childhood dish… Boiled eggs with salt on the side and toast at your fingertips. Inevitably, this makes me feel like a Saturday, when my mother was making this for me. I’m a bit nostalgic of this time.

An animal… An elephant. It is an smart and calming animal. They have an incredibly dexterity. I learned a lot from him while working on the film. I would also add the girafe, since I had the opportunity to play with a baby girafe barely bigger than me. Their black tongue surprised.

An era… I am a big fan of music and clothing style of the 1960s. Whether in England or the United States, I like everything from that time.

An album… It is difficult to choose one. I give you my top 5: Night Train by Oscar Peterson, One Love by Bob Marley & The Wailers, Moondance, Van Morrison, Abbey Road, Beatles, and Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), the Wu-Tang Clan. They all talk to me in their own way.

An artist… The cannonman at the circus. I like the risk. I love having the feeling of flying. Being a beard lady, I would not mind either. To avoid having to shave!

A book… Money, Money by Martin Amis. I read it when I was 15, I read it hundreds of times since then and it always makes me laugh. Amis has managed to create a world that is both funny and abrasive. I’d love to play John Self, the depraved hero, who's without illusions, he created.

An essential garment… Without hesitation, the underwear: it’s really the only piece you need! That and sunglasses, which are an accessory that I love! At home, I am constantly in that outfit.

A quote… “Mistakes are the doors of discovery”, by James Joyce. A smiliar one: “A man can be destroyed but not defeated” by Ernest Hemingway. Both remind me that our biggest mistakes are the experiences we learn the most from. Hope to improving give everyone the desire to live the next day, doesn't it?
