Entertainment Weekly's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 special edition issue has hit stands today, and in addition to offering great new pictures from the film and an account of the six month production process for both Part 1 and Part 2, it also revealed a few new facts about Breaking Dawn's film translation. 

 For starters, as mentioned before, the first shot of Denali Coven castmates Maggie Grace ("Irina"), Casey LaBow ("Kate"), and MyAnna Buring ("Tanya") with Elizabeth Reaser ("Esme Cullen") indicates that there have been a few changes in the story of "Irina." In the book version of Breaking Dawn, she did not attend the wedding, but this photograph is clearly from the ceremony or reception, so it appears that she will. This means the story leading up to her betrayal of the Cullens (snitching to the Volturi about "Renesmee") will be slightly different than it was in the book. It should be very interesting to see how this is handled on-screen! 

 Next, a photograph of Michael Sheen ("Aro") receiving his notice of Bella and Edward's wedding shows that the film will present what couldn't be known from Bella's book perspective - namely, what was going on with the Volturi while the wedding and honeymoon took place. This will help to fill out some of the decision-making processes that went into the entire Volturi line-up heading to Forks to showdown, witnesses and all.

Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart revealed three new details herself. First off, she had something to say to and about those who leaked images from Breaking Dawn earlier this year. According to her, she figured they were stolen from the dailies, so she took action by leaving a few choice words at the end of the following takes. They were, shall we say, colorful and poignant. She also explained that the ratings issue (i.e., keeping Breaking Dawn in the PG-13 tradition of the Twilight Saga) was more relevant when it came to the pregnancy and delivery scenes than anything romantic. 

Accordingly, we won't actually see Bella throwing up blood in the movie. In other words, some aspects of those moments were just too graphic to make it to film. Lastly, she talked about how the wedding scene really affected her during shooting. “I literally felt like thanking them for coming,” she explained. As you know, over three million copies of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on DVD/Blu-Ray were sold on its opening weekend of release.

According to The Wrap, this put Eclipse on top of DVD sales charts for the weekend. Apparently, most people who came out for Eclipse bought the DVD rather than renting because it didn't show so hotly on rental lists. Ah well.

Most fans probably want their own copy of the film rather than paying to rent it anyway.

In other Eclipse-related news, The Hollywood Reporter states that Eclipse's trailer was one of "the most-searched movie trailers on Google this year."

Anyone surprised?

Last year, the New Moon trailer was the "most viral video" of the year.

To celebrate, and as is always the case for the Twilight movies, there'll be midnight release parties again! A search portal has been added to the Official Eclipse website to help fans locate the parties nearest to them. Check that out at EclipseTheMovie.com. 

 

There's no news yet as to whether there'll be cast appearances at some of the DVD parties (and the fact that filming for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is on-going makes it seem less certain that there will be), but it has been reported that director David Slade will be doing a signing in Burbank. Tom Felton ("Draco Malfoy") was asked on the red carpet of HP7's NYC premiere last night how his experience of working with Ashley Greene ("Alice Cullen") in Apparition was. “Ashley’s a wonder to work with and she looks fierce on the screen," he explained. Felton wasn't the only one to remark on working with a Twilight star. In fact, he wasn't the only "Malfoy" to do so. 

Felton's on-screen father Jason Isaacs ("Lucius Malfoy") also spoke up about working with Taylor Lautner in Abduction. "He is a martial arts wizard in real life - he can do standing double back somersaults, and he used to do exhibitions at the karate world championships - but I had to beat him up, and I couldn't beat my wife in a fight . . . It was interesting to see another young person who is universally known but very different to Daniel, Rupert and Emma. The Twilight phenomenon is different . . .I am now - and have to be - Team Jacob, because Taylor is a lovely boy." The full interview is available here. 

"Lucius Malfoy" is "Team Jacob"? In the attached video from an MTV interview, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Tom Felton, and Rupert Grint all take on the task of speaking with an American accent. They are asked to say, "Twilight blows." Radcliffe says, "My apologies in advance, Rob, I'm just reading what's on the card, just following orders." And Emma Watson, whose words on the subject of Twilight were heavily inspected a few weeks back, said, "Oh, this is controversial. This is a trick! You are trying to trick me!"

Honestly, this whole debate is just ridiculous. Harry Potter is a great story about adventure, it's scary, it's thrilling and I'm sure it's centered around goodness overcoming evil. Twilight, is a beautiful love story that really teaches something. So, really it depends on the type of person you are. And the fact that Emma Watson even went as far as to say that Twilight is selling sex (which is completely twisted, because the story is all about abstinence) doesn't tell me good things.
