Alice Englert from Beautiful Creatures Mentions Twilight and Kristen

"It opened the supernatural genre up to a new audience, but this film is different," Englert told us firmly. "I haven't seen all of the Twilight films, but Beautiful Creatures has a sense of humour and wit to it - at least that's how it approaches the fantasy world. I wouldn't have been able to take it seriously otherwise. And as for the Kristen Stewart comparisons, I just don't think that's fair. I thought she was great in On The Road and Into The Wild. But she's got enough people scrutinising her without me adding my take."

    Have people compared her to kristen in a negative way? Good on her for both adding to it.

    sorry to bust her bubble but the first thing I thought when I saw the preview is this looks and sounds like they r ripping off twlight!

      I tried to read the book, but couldn't get through it. It felt like a CHEAP rip off.

    I'm ignorant about all this but it sounds by her comment that people have criticized Kristen's acting and she's defending her. I'll have to learn more about this movie and this actress. She sounds like a nice person.

      Read it again, this is not a compliment. That is her tearing Twilight down like the rest of them. Yet they are trying so hard to hit the twilight gold mine. Look at the trailer, read the synopsis. I wonder why people are making the comparison? Its the Bella wanna be comparison. I kid you not. But Twilight it is not. That kind of phenomenon happens once in a blue moon. Beautiful Creatures will come and go, and we are not going to remember this conversation. We have seen he girl meets mystery boy scenario at its best, move along. The try to copy Twilight, even the kissing scene. Nice try, NEXT!

    That was a nice reply back to the journalist. It was polite and had no negative feelings. I'm really glad the big female stars of these franchise movies are not letting the media create stupid "girl drama" between them but instead they rise above that and stick up for each other. It is wonderful to see young women like this set a precedent for women respecting one another. Because those reality TV shows sure don't cut it.

    i think they didnt do a good job picking the right people for beautiful creatures.....come on have they read the description of them. And they so cant compare kristen to this girl, now i will go laugh some more

    Haha!! Seven million this weekend. Yes, Twilight it is not. I'm afraid. Never count your chickens before they hatch. Like I said, we've seen that story at its best. NEXT!
